Horecki Check Raises the River

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
Marcin Horecki
Marcin Horecki

We missed the pre flop action, but assume Tim Ulrich opened from middle position, and Marcin Horecki in the big blind made the call.

Horecki check called a 750 bet on {7-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, and 1,600 on the {A-Spades}-turn.

The river came the {9-Spades} and Horecki checked again. Ulrich bet out 3,200 and Horecki took some seconds before tossing two 5,000 chips in.

Ulrich made the call, but mucked as soon as the Polish Team Pro showed {2-Clubs}{2-Spades} for a flopped set.

Estrella Main Event Winner Ruzzi Busts

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Steven Watts opened the action and was three-bet by Matias Ruzzi to 1,200. Back to Watts he enquired brusquely, “How much you got?”

Ruzzi showed him and having established he had a little over 6,000 Watts four-bet to 2,700. Ruzzi moved all in and Watts instantly called. Ruzzi tabled {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} and Watts the {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}. The board ran out {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{k-Spades}{10-Hearts} and Ruzzi tapped the table as he exited the tournament.

As Watts stacked the chips another player told him he had just knocked out the winner of the Estrellas Main Event. Watts expressed surprise, evidently unimpressed with what he had seen, discussing a previous hand that he had been involved in.

One Hundred, Not Out

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

It's interesting to note some of the players who played in the very first EPT ten years ago and who are also playing today. They include bracelet winner Willie Tan, Ken Lennart and Team PokerStars Pro Luca Pagano (who finished 3rd in that €1,000 event for €20,000).

"You Know What I Have!"

Govert Metaal with Jorryt van Hoof in the Super High Roller earlier this week

With {K-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} on the table, Govert Metaal was seen check calling a 750 bet from the player in the cut off. The player in the big blind folded, so it was heads up to the {5-Hearts}-turn. Both players checked, and the {A-Hearts} was for free.

Metaal bet out 1,200 and smiled. The player in the cut off thought for some time and Metaal said: 'You know what I have, a flush!" No decision yet. "Watch out, there's a straight flush out there" continued Metaal.

Eventually the cut off made the call. Metaal pointed to the board, and said that was what's he was playing. Metaal showed {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} and his opponent tabled {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and took it down.

"I try it" said Metaal with a big smile. He's still up for the day, the Dutch EPT regular has about 35,000 in front of him.
