Misclicks and Pot Odds

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Alexander Trevallion was on the button and made an unusually large raise of 16,000, It folded to big blind Samuel Gilbert who chuckled and threw in his cards. Trevallion laughed and admitted it was a “misclick” mistake. Gilbert for his turn admitted that in Day 1 he had thrown in two blue T5000 chips by mistake. Both were relieved not to get called.

Gilbert had to be a lot more focused a few hands later when he found himself in a pot against Robert Kuhn who had called in the big blind. The flop was {9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Kuhn had led for 18,000. Gilbert raised him to 35,000 and Kuhn had responded with an all-in.

Gilbert got the count of 107,000 and started to do the maths as he had around 100,000 left behind. The odds looked tempting but he took his time as Kuhn sat giving nothing away. As much as it seemed to pain him to do it, Gilbert did in the end fold and kept himself in the tournament.

Moreira de Melo's Moving Up

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante
Fatima Moreira de Melo
Fatima Moreira de Melo

PokerStars SportStar Fatima Moreira de Melo's been on a tear so far on Day 3 and currently she's sitting on 224,500 chips after busting out Kristoffer Edberg on the secondary featured table.

After unknown preflop action it was Edberg who was at risk for 60,300 chips and the showdown went as following.

Edberg: {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}
Moreira de Melo: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}

The flop brought {8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and Edberg picked up a flush draw to make things more interesting. On the turn the {10-Hearts} popped up giving Edberg a straight draw as well, but the river was the {5-Spades} knocking the Swede out before the money.

Moreira de Melo started the day with just 40,000 chips but as of right now she's in gerat shape for a very deep run.

Re-Vamped

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
David Vamplew
David Vamplew

David Vamplew started off today with only 20 big blinds, but the first level or so has been going swimmingly for the former EPT London winner. Vamplew just eliminated Miguel Riera after all the chips went in on a {K-Spades}{5-Spades}{9-Hearts} flop.

Vamplew held {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} against Riera's {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} and the {4-Clubs} turn and {8-Hearts} river made no difference to the board.

Kevin MacPhee
Kevin MacPhee

Former EPT Berlin winner Kevin MacPhee looked all set to add Jens Lakemeier's chips to his stack when the German got all in with {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} against MacPhee's {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. But fortune favoured Lakemeier as the board came {K-Spades}{J-Spades}{6-Clubs}{A-Spades}{8-Clubs} to make a set of eights on the river.

MacPhee dropped to around 230,000 while Lakemeier doubled to about 130,000.

Nordin Ships on Bensadoun

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

[Removed:119] opened the action to 10,000 and it folded around to Leo Nordin in the small blind. Nordin came out with a three-bet to 32,000, prompting the big blind to let go of his hand. Bensadoun thought for a bit before dropping out a flat call.

The flop was {9-Spades}{6-Clubs}{A-Spades} and Bensadoun checked to the raiser. Nordin continued out for 24,000 and Bensadoun wasted little time coming over the top with a check-raise to 50,000 straight.

Nordin's response to the check-raise was to move all in, prompting an instant fold from Bensadoun. Nordin took down the pot and brought his stack to 250,000.

Ardon Stations Filatov

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Anatoly Filatov
Anatoly Filatov

Martijn Dingeman Ardon opened the action for 8,000 and faced a three-bet from the aggressive Russian, Anatoly Filatov for 26,000. It folded round to Ardon who made the call and they went to a flop of {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}.

Ardon check-called a bet of 23,000 from Filatov and on the turn card {k-Hearts} he did the same for a bet of 38,000. The river was the {4-Spades} and Filatov, who was receiving a vigorous elbow to the shoulder from a massage girl, took his time sorting his chips into different piles before putting gout a bet of 90,000. Ardon didn’t rush his decision but he did make the call. “Ten high.” Filatov said without turning his cards over. Ardon showed the {a-Spades}{q-Spades} to take the pot.

A few minutes passed before Filatov enquired of his neighbour, “You always call with ace high?”

“Against you? I probably would.” reasoned the Dutchman.

More For Melo

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Fatima Moreira de Melo
Fatima Moreira de Melo

The action folded to PokerStars SportStar Fatima Moreira de Melo who raised to 8,000 from the cutoff and Team PokerStars Pro Johnny Lodden started laughing right away from the small blind. The two have had some good banter at the table but Lodden folded right away when the action got to him.

Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree however made the call from the big blind.

The flop brought out {J-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Boeree check-called 9,000. On the turn the {3-Diamonds} hit and once again Boeree checked. Moreira de Melo tanked for a little while before putting together a bet of 14,000 and Boeree called once more.

The river was the {7-Hearts} and this time both ladies checked. Boeree showed {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts} but that was no good as Moreira de Melo had rivered a pair with {9-Spades}{7-Spades}.

"You're good," Moreira de Melo smiled.

"I know," Boeree smiled right back at her opponent.

While this hand was going on the chip leader of the tournament. Raffaele Sorrentino was moved to Moreira de Melo's right and he's been chipping up nicely so far to 670,000 chips as of right now.

"Mmmmm," Marko Neumann said when Sorrentino put his chips down on the table as this secondary featured table gets better and better.
