Leonard's Hand Mucked, Gets it Back, Busts

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Ludovic Geilich - Patrick Leonard
Ludovic Geilich - Patrick Leonard

We weren't witness ourselves, but our photographer told us about the start of an interesting hand. Jesse Sylvia opened under the gun for 6,000 and Ivan Soshnikov three-bet the button to 8,700. Small blind Ludovic Geilich made a cold four-bet to 17,800. Big blind Patrick Leonard's cards were then mucked by the dealer by accident.

Floor Kate Badurek came over, took Leonard aside and asked him what his cards were. He told her the exact cards, and she retrieved them out of the muck exactly where Leonard had said they would be.

With his cards back in his possession, Leonard now shoved all in for 98,000 to make the interesting hand even more bizarre. Soshnikov folded his button and Geilich went into the tank.

This is where we picked up the action and witnessed the two chatting a bit. We heard Leonard at one point say "You gotta gamble." Geilich wasn't convinced just yet and needed some more time. A player at the table called the clock and once more floor Badurek got involved. She started the one-minute countdown and at half way through, Geilich made the call.

Ludovic Geilich: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
Patrick Leonard: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

The flop came about as good as they could for Geilich with {J-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}. After the {9-Spades} on the turn Geilich didn't have to worry anymore, the {6-Spades} on the river was there just to make things official.

Refos Hanging In There

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Raoul Refos first doubled a shorty with {A-}{Q-} against {Q-}{Q-} and right after he lost a much bigger pot with {K-}{K-} all in before the flop against {A-}{K-}.

All the way back down to 20,000, Refos shoved with {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}. His neighbor [Removed:551] made the call with {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}. The board favored the Dutchman: {5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{2-Clubs}. Back in action!

Van Hoof Takes Some From Simunic

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

We just picked up the action on the flop when the board read {6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} when Josip Simunic and Artur Koren checked to Jorryt van Hoof on the button. Van Hoof bet 3,800, Simunic called from the big blind and Koren folded from the cutoff.

The turn was the {10-Spades} and both players checked. On the river the {K-Hearts} hit and Simunic checked again. Van Hoof paused and bet 4,900 after which Simunic tanked for about 30 seconds and folded.

"Show the bluff one time?" Simunic asked.

Van Hoof let his opponent pick one card and he flipped over the {A-Spades}.

Simunic shook his head and laughed, as Koren admitted that the river would've given him a pair of kings.

Trickett and Veiga Chop the Pot

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Sam Trickett opened under the gun for 2,600 and Diogo Veiga on the button made the call. Shannon Shorr in the small blind called as well, Liv Boeree folded her big blind.

Shorr checked to Trickett on {10-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{7-Spades} and the British pro bet 5,800. Veiga called, Shorr folded.

Both players checked the {6-Spades} on the turn and the {Q-Spades} completed the board. Trickett bet 8,000 and got snap called.

Both players had the same hand. Trickett showed {Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}, Veiga tabled {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}.

You Win Some, You Lose Some (To a Straight Flush)

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Dutchman Tobias Peters just told us how he won two hands against short-stacked players, but that he more importantly lost a big pot against Bernd Vogelhuber who managed to make a straight flush. At the bottom line Peters lost chips, and he now sits on 89,000 chips.

The hand in question went as following, as Vogelhuber raised under the gun to 2,500 and a player in middle position called. Peters called from the big blind with {A-Hearts}{7-} and the flop brought {A-}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}.

Peters checked to Vogelhuber who bet 4,500 and the player in middle position called. Peters decided to check-raise to 15,700 and Vogelhuber moved all in for 56,000. The player in middle position folded and Peters made the call.

Vogelhuber: {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Peters: {A-Hearts}{7-}

The turn was the {10-Clubs} and the river the {9-Hearts}, and that gave Vogelhuber a straight flush. Peters' still has plenty of chips to play with, but right now Vogelhuber has the advantage on his direct left with 130,000.
