Brian Kim Down and Out

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Brian Kim has been eliminated, and he was kind enough to tell us the details.

The player to his right opened to 16,000, and with just 95,000 left Brian Kim shoved all in. Action folded back to the initial raiser who made the call holding {K-}{10-}. Kim was ahead with {5-}{5-} but the turn would do him no good: {Q-}{9-}{4-Clubs}{10-}{2-}.

Brian Kim eliminated at the end of Day 3.

Katchalov's Flopped Straight Goes Down to Straight Flush

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Straight Flush for Georgios Sotiropoulos!
Straight Flush for Georgios Sotiropoulos!

On a board of {6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} the small blind checked, and Sam Grafton in the big blind lead for 38,000. Eugene Katchalov flatted in middle position and Georgios Sotiropoulos shoved all in right behind him for what we believe was 197,000, but the dealer counted as 207,000. The small blind quickly folded, Grafton soon realized his hand wasn't good enough and folded, Katchalov instantly called.

Eugene Katchalov: {5-Spades}{7-Spades}
Georgios Sotiropoulos: {7-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

The {4-Hearts} on the turn made Katchalov drawing dead, the {10-Hearts} was just insult to injury. Katchalov had 240,000 left after that hand.

Lakhdari Loses with Aces

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Omar Lakhdari three-bet a raise from 20,000 to 60,000 in the cutoff and was called to continue with a bet of 50,000 on the {K-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {J-Spades} flop. His opponent called and the {J-Clubs} on the turn was checked. The {Q-Hearts} river saw the Frenchman lose another 100,000 chips with pocket as his opponent check-called and then showed {A-} {10-} for a gutshot that completed on the river.

Eugene Katchalov Eliminated in One of the Last Hands of the Day

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Eugene Katchalov
Eugene Katchalov

In the penultimate hand of the day the tournament lost one of Team PokerStars Pro's most prolific members.

Eugene Katchalov just lost the big hand with a flopped straight to a turned flush (and rivered straight flush), and moved the remainder of his stack in before the flop not much later. His opponent was once again Georgios Sotiropoulos.

Katchalov had {A-Clubs}{Q-} and was up against the jacks of Sotiropoulos. No help on the board for Katchalov and with just one hand to go the Ukrainian made his exit.

Not Bossing Around Anymore

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Oscar Kroon opened for 17,000 and Idan Raviv in the cutoff made the call. Simon Boss in the big blind shoved all in for 147,000 and Kroon shoved over the top. Raviv knew enough and folded.

Kroon had by far the best hand holding {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, Boss had {K-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. Some table mates would describe him as on semi tilt afterwards, and the tilty move did not get rewarded: {6-Spades}{8-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}.

Mattsson Wins Big Pot To Capture Lead at the Death

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

In the second last hand of play both Simon Mattsson and Miha Travnik were involved in a raising war pre flop that saw the latter commit approximately 300,000 in chips all in and was called.

Mattsson: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Travnik: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Travnik was at risk against the pair of tens and would find no help as the board ran out {q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs} to see him eliminated so close to the end of days play.

With that pot Mattsson moved up to 1,790,000 in chips and would snatch the chip lead with one hand to go.

Muhlocker Busts In Three Way All In

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Thomas Muhlocker was all in preflop with {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}. Adrian Ionescu had the rest of his chips in the middle too with {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. Petr Jelinek had them both covered and he tabled {a-Spades}{q-Spades}.

The cards fell {9-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{9-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and Jelinek hit his queen to bust two players in one fell swoop to take a stack over a million into the next day.
