Blom Triples and Busquet Busts in Three-Way Clash

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Benny Spindler raised from the cutoff seat, Olivier Busquet reraised all in from the button, then Viktor Blom called all in from the big blind. Spindler called, and it was a big three-way clash of big names for this pot.

Spindler held the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}, Busquet had the {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, and Blom had the {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}.

The flop, turn and river ran out {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{10-Clubs} to give Blom a Broadway straight and triple him up. Busquet had a little bit more than Blom's 55,300, but lost to Spindler and was eliminated. Spindler was left with about 340,000 in chips.

Clark Busts to Wheeler in Cooler

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

If you're on the wrong side of a cooler you'd prefer it to be in a small re-buy event and not a 25k buy in event. Therefore you have to feel for the short, and cold, day that Zachary Clark had today.

Davidi Kitai raised to 5,000 from under the gun before Jason Wheeler three-bet to 11,000 and Clark four-bet to 22,500. Kitai folded but Wheeler paused and then moved all in for around 110,000. Clark called off his 96,000 stack in an instant.

Wheeler: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}
Clark: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The board ran {5-Spades}{2-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{9-Hearts}.

O'Brien Folds River To Marchese

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

From middle position, David "Doc" Sands raised to 4,000. He was called by Dan O'Brien in the hijack seat and Tom Marchese in the big blind before the dealer ran out the {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop. After a check from Marchese and Sands, O'Brien bet 7,600. Marchese called, and Sands folded.

The turn added the {6-Hearts} to the board, and both players checked to see the {3-Clubs} land on the river. Marchese led for 18,500, and O'Brien gave it up.

Sands Out

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

David "Doc" Sands has just been eliminated, and Dan O'Brien was kind enough to give us the details of what happened.

Vasily Klyukin raised to 5,000 and David "Doc" Sands called to see a flop of {8-}{4-}{3-} with two clubs. Sands checked, Klyukin bet 7,000, and Sands check-raised to 18,500. Klyukin went all in, and Sands called off for 65,000-70,000.

Sands held {A-}{8-} for top pair, and Klyukin had {J-}{J-} for an overpair. The turn and river blanked, and Sands was eliminated. Klyukin moved to 230,000 in chips.

Chip Leader Watch

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Igor Kurganov
Igor Kurganov

German's, and specifically Igor Kurganov and Benny Spindler, are pretty good at these high rollers and ended up as the two biggest stacks last night.

Both have lost a little ground today but Spindler has recovered his position somewhat.

Spindler took a pot off a player in the hijack. He opened to to 4,200 and called when Spindler three-bet to 9,600 from the small blind. The flop fanned {7-Spades}{4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {4-Diamonds} turn where Spindler led for 8,200. Call. Both players wenting back to checking on the {10-Spades} river and Spindler opened {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}. The hijack mucked.

Kurganov, meanwhile, was busy being put in his place by Vanessa Selbst. The action was three-way to a {4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop and Philip Sternheimer led for 4,200 from the small blind. Selbst called from the big blind before Kurganov raised to 13,500. Sternheimer folded but the Team PokerStars Pro three-bet to 34,500. Kurganov didn't like it and folded.

Wheeler Not Happy with Bilokur

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Jason Wheeler fired a bet of 21,000 on the {J-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop, and JC Alvarado folded. Alex Bilokur, winner of the 2012 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure High Roller, made the call, and the dealer added the {A-Diamonds} to the board on the turn. Both Wheeler and Bilokur checked.

The river completed the board with the {2-Diamonds}, and Wheeler led for a small 8,300. Bilokur called.

After Bilokur made the call, Wheeler tabled the {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for a pair of tens. Bilokur waiting for a couple seconds, then showed the {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}, and Wheeler didn't take too kindly to his pause.

"Nice slowroll, sir," commented Wheeler. "Very classy of you," he added. "Top notch."

Bilokur didn't say a word, but just collected the pot and moved to 200,000 in chips.
