McCorkell Takes Hakim Out

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Craig McCorkell's table, and particular his seat draw, has all of a sudden become a lot rosier after he eliminated Jeff Hakim moments after Erik Seidel bust. Both were in seats to the British bracelet winner's left.

McCorkell opened and quickly called when Hakim three-bet all in for 6,000 from the next seat.

McCorkell: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Hakim: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

The board ran {j-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{8-Hearts} making McCorkell the better pair.

Bilokur Busts to Bendik's Nuts

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Jan Bendik fired out 1,500 on a flop of {j-Hearts}{k-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Alex Bilokur called, and the turn brought the {3-Hearts}. Bendik fired out for another 3,500, Bilokur moved all in for around 10,000, and Bendik immediately called with the nuts.

Bendik: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Bilokur: {j-Spades}{10-Spades}

The river was the {5-Hearts}, and Bilokur was eliminaed.

Bendik, who leads the Season 9 EPT Player of the Year race, now has 70,000 chips.

Fernandez Above Six Figures

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Imad Derwiche tossed out what looked like 20,000 on a board of {7-Spades}{k-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, and Pablo Fernandez moved all in for 43,625. Derwiche asked the dealer to pull the bets in, then called.

Derwiche: {8-Spades}{5-Spades}
Fernandez: {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Derwiche winced at the sight of Fernandez's hand, and was drawing dead. A meaningless {q-Spades} completed the board, and Fernandez doubled to around 110,000 chips. Derwiche was left with just 15,000.

Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel

"A bit of a mare!" was how Craig McCorkell described Erik Seidel's exit hand.

We approached the back end of the hand when it seemed as if Seidel has six-bet to 14,000 out of the small blind. He was battling Mikita Badziakouski who was in the big blind and shoved after Seidel's latest raise.

Seidel only had 26,000 total and said whilst half giggling, "I guess I've priced myself in!" and called.

Seidel: {q-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Badziakouski: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

The board ran {k-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}.

Seidel said to PokerNews that he doesn't know what he's going to do for the week. He has three days to kill before the high roller tournament begins.

Rousso Up to 80K

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Vanessa Rousso opened to 800 from early position, and Yannick Bonnet called out of the small blind. The flop fell {9-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, Bonnet checked, and Rousso continued for 1,000. Bonnet called.

The turn was the {q-Diamonds}, both players checked, and the {7-Hearts} completed the board. Bonnet led out for 1,800, and Rousso instantly called.

Bonnet mucked his hand, prompting Rousso to turn over {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for a winning pair of aces.
