Ene Wins With 80 Percent Of a Straight Flush

Level 8 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

With a board of {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} on the felt, Jamie Nixon had checked to Gabriel Ene who moved all in for around 13,000 with around 4,000 in the pot.

Nixon threw his cards away after going into the tank, to be kindly shown by Ene that he had {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for nines-up and an open-ended straight flush draw.

Wang Turn Bet Good Enough To Take It

Level 8 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Heads-up between Lei Wang on the button and the early position Paul Vanwalsemv, with 15,000 in the pot, Vanwalsemv had checked to Wang on a board of {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{9-Clubs}.

Wang counted out 6,500 and quickly fired it into the pot, which got a very quick fold from Vanwalsemv.

Laidlaw Laying Down the Law, Puts Danny's Head On a Pyke

Level 7 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante

Danny Pyke was involved in back-to-back action, after he moved all in for around 10,000 from the big blind versus the early position open of Jack Hardcastle, who called to put Pyke at risk.

Danny Pyke: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}
Jack Hardcastle: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

It was looking good for Hardcastle, if not for 'it always coming seven', as Pyke flopped a set on {7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. The {4-Hearts} did give Hardcastle heart outs but the {5-Diamonds} completed the board to give Pyke the double.

In the very next hand, Danny Pyke moved all in under-the-gun and Daniel Laidlaw moved all in from the small blind. Vaidas Siriunas tanked but eventually folded his bug blind. Pyke was the player at risk.

Danny Pyke: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Daniel Laidlaw: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Laidlaw had Pyke pipped and held up on the {2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{7-Clubs}{10-Clubs} run out to send Pyke to the door.

Ramsden Holds to Bust Bryant

Level 7 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante
Jacque Ramsden
Jacque Ramsden

PokerNews joined the action on a turn with a board of {q-Hearts}{3-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts} with Jacque Ramsden all in from the button covering Jacob Bryant, for Bryants last 12,000 or so. With 16,000 already in the middle, the cutoff of Bryant called after a little bit of deliberating.

Jacob Bryant: {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Jacque Ramsden: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Ramsden was well ahead and just had to dodge any nine or eight. The {q-Clubs} river secured him the win, knocking Bryant out.

Ellis Takes a Little from Nixon

Level 7 : 200/500, 500 ante
Jamie Nixon
Jamie Nixon

Grosvenor sponsored player Jamie Nixon has been quietly chipping up since he entered the event earlier today, but in the latest hand, it was Mike Ellis that took just a few of Nixon's growing stack away from him.

After Ellis opened in the the cutoff, it was a three-bet of 3,000 from Nixon that got a call from Ellis.

On to a flop of {q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, actioned slowed down, going check-checked.

A {9-Spades} turn drew a lead of 2,500 from Ellis which Nixon called, though on a rivered {2-Diamonds}, Nixon quickly mucked when Ellis moved all in for 5,900 chips.
