£1,000 Main Event
Day 1a Started
Welcome to the Grosvenor Casino Coventry for the latest event on the Grosvenor United Kingdom Poker Tour (GUKPT). Today's Main Event gets underway at midday with the first of three starting flights in the £1,000 buy-in tournament.
Last month in London, Timothy Chung defeated a record 702-player field to take home £185,560. Players heading to Coventry this weekend will be hoping to emulate his success with another large field expected.
That's because when the GUKPT last visited Coventry, that Main Event used to hold the record for largest GUKPT Main Event field, before it was beaten by London in February. Steve Jelinek was the victorious player, defeating a 607-player field for £105,050.
The Main Event again benefits from a generous 60-minute structure with ten levels played on Day 1 and a 20,000 starting stack. Players are allowed up to three entries per flight, with late registration open to the start of Day 2.
Stay tuned to PokerNews for full coverage from the event as we crown the latest GUKPT champion.
