GUKPT London

Day 2 of the GUKPT London £1,250 Main Event gets underway today, Saturday, February 5 at 12 p,m, GMT at the world famous Victoria Casino, London.

Just 187 players from three starting flights have made it through to the next stage with Renee Xie sitting a top of the chip counts with an impressive stack of 261,000, which she amassed on Day 1a.

Steve Jelinek (240,000) and Timothy Chong (120,000) ended up with the most chips after the conclusion of Day 1b and Day1c, respectively.

There have been 659 entries across the three starting flights, which has seen the prize pool swell to an impressive £733,700. Late Registration is open until Day 2 begins, so there is every chance that figure could inflate even more.

The Main Event has seen a host of notable names enter and leave the competition. Two-time EPT Main Event winner and British broadcaster Victoria Coren-Mitchell fired three bullets on Day 1a but could not pilot a stack over to Day 2.

Grosvenor Poker Pros Jamie Nixon, Katie Swift and Jamie Nixon also found themselves hitting the rail across Days 1a, 1b and 1c. However, Grosvenor Poker 2021 National League Champion Euan McNicholas (59,700) faired a little better and takes an above average stack into Day 2.

World Series of Poker Bracelet winners Niall Farrell (72,900), Barny Boatman (70,000) and Richard Ashby (42,100) all managed to bag and tag a stack to the next stage. In addition, PokerStars ambassadors Chris Da Sliva (97,100) and Kelly Saxby (63,300) also will be in attendance for Day 2.

Today's proceedings will see another 10 60-minute levels play out with blinds resuming at 600/1,200/1,200.

As always, keep it locked in with PokerNews to keep up with the action from the GUKPT London £1,250 Main Event.
