Ackerer Goes Runner Runner

Level 8 : 300/600, 50 ante

Wayne Ackerer just doubled up through Trevor Warren and he came from behind to do it.

Warren opened the action with a raise, Ackerer three bet and Warren four-bet shoved. Ackerer called the all in for the rest of his 10,000 or so chips.

Warren was ahead with pocket kings, but Ackerer would come from behind to win with {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}. The board ran out {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{10-Spades}{j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}, giving Ackerer a bunch of outs on the river and eventually giving him the best hand with trip jacks.

Miller's Agonizing Double Up

Level 8 : 300/600, 50 ante
Nicole Miller
Nicole Miller

Nicole Miller just called a bet on the river, putting her tournament life at risk.

The action started when Josh Lowing limped and the player on the button raised. Miller called from the big blind, as did Lowing.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and Miller and Lowing checked. The button player bet 4,000, which was about half of Miller's remaining stack. She seemed to have a really difficult choice but eventually called.

The turn was the {4-Diamonds} and both players checked. The river was the {a-Diamonds} and Miller checked for a third time. Her opponent bet 6,000, which was more than she had left. She was very reluctant, but called fairly quickly. She showed {a-}{8-} and her opponent mucked.

Rip Cordrey

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Ryan Kalb and Paul Cordrey were heads up looking at a {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop. Cordrey went all in for 7,950 into a pot of about 6,000. Kalb called reluctantly with {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} and was happily surprised to be ahead when Cordrey showed {q-Spades}{9-Hearts}.

The board ran out {4-Diamonds}{a-Spades}, giving Kalb the win and eliminating Cordrey.

Stepanovich Up, Goodrich Gone

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante
Eli Stepanovich
Eli Stepanovich

Eli Stepanovich and Jeff Goodrich were two of five players who called Nick Guagenti's preflop raise. All players checked the {k-Clubs}{6-Spades}{a-Hearts} flop.

When the {10-Spades} hit the turn, things heated up quick. Goodrich bet 5,000 and Stepanovich called. The next player to act raised to 12,000 and when the action was back on Goodrich, he shoved all in for about 20,000 total. Stepanovich, who had both players covered by a decent amount, flat called Goodrich's all in.

The original raiser then shoved all in again for about 40,000 and the decision was on Stepanovich again. He eventually decided to call.

"Four outs," said Goodrich as he turned over {a-}{10-}. The other at risk player had turned broadway, with {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}, and Stepanovich was on a flush draw with {7-Spades}{4-Spades}.

Once the chips were counted, the dealer put the {q-Spades} on the river and that sealed the win for Stepanovich. He scored a double knockout and is now over 120,000.

Kaplan's Kings, Bullmaster Gets Dozed

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Phil Bullmaster and Rick Kaplan were heads up and Bullmaster bet 20,000 on the river to put Kaplan all in. Kaplan only had about 11,000 left at that point, but called with pocket kings, he had a set. Bullmaster had flopped second pair on the {k-}{9-}{x-} flop.
