Steve Clark just doubled up when his two pair hung on to beat the flush and straight draws of Jinghao Xu.
Clark opened the action by making it 1,700 preflop and got three callers. The flop came and the action checked to Clark who made it 2,500. Xu was next to act and raised to 5,300. The action folded back to Clark and he shipped his last 20,475. Xu didn't take too long to call.
Xu was behind and needing help with , for a flush and broadway draw. Clark just wanted his two pair to hold on. The board ran out and Clark stayed ahead and won the pot.
Wayne Smith was on the button when Rob Koss opened for 1,500 from early position. Smith called the raise, and Koss, who seemed to be friendly with Smith, looked at him with a hint of friendly annoyance.
"Go f*** yourself Wayne!" said Koss.
Smith laughed, as it seemed to be only a friendly jab.
The dealer set out the flop, and Koss bet 1,400. Smith raised to 2,800, and the Koss folded, rolling his eyes as he mucked his hand.
"What are you rolling your eyes for?" Smith said to his opponent as he turned over pocket tens for an over pair.
Nick Pupillo was heads up on a board reading and bet an unknown amount. His opponent called and the two players saw the hit the river.
Pupillo led out for 7,000 and his opponent didn't take very long to call. Pupillo showed for a pair of nines, with a busted flush draw. His opponent folded.
Along with Pupillo, Firas Sadou also reentered the tournament.
