Big Slick Doesn't Do the Trick

Level 14 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Chi Do - 7th Place
Chi Do - 7th Place

A short-stacked Chi Do moved all in for his last 12,100 from the cutoff and action folded to Mike Summers, who made the call from the big blind.

Do: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Summers: {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Do got it in good, but Summers was drawing to two live cards.

"I like your hand," someone said to Summers. No sooner did he say it then the flop came down {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} to give Summers the lead with two pair. The {K-Spades} turn gave Do some more outs, but the {9-Spades} river wasn't one of them.

Do stared at the board for a moment and then exited the tournament area empty handed in seventh place. Just one more player needs to hit the rail before we're in the money.

"I Should Have Made It 30K"

Level 14 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Mike Summers opened for 3,200 under the gun and Vicki Russel called from middle position. John Kostelac came along from the small blind, and then Bradley Yazici put his big stack to use and three-bet to 11,500. Summers called, the other two players folded, and it was heads-up action to the {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{q-Spades} flop.

Yazici led out for 15,500 and Summers quickly folded.

"I should have made it 30K pre," Summers said.

Another Cooler Hand

Level 13 : 700/1,400, 100 ante

In the last hours we've seen three big hands involving pocket pairs. Pretty sick if you ask us.

In the most recent, Mike Summers opened for 3,000 from middle position and Peter Kaemmerlen called from the button. Chi Do then three-bet to 12,000 from the small blind, the big folded, and Summers dropped out a big stack for a raise to 49,000, leaving himself just 2,100 behind. Kaemmerlen quickly folded and Do thought for about a minute before moving all in. Summers called off his remaining stack.

Summers: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Do: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

It was the same situation we saw with Kammerlen and Kenneth "Hockey" Hock minutes before. The board ended up running out {9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and Summers doubled while Do was left with just 16,000.

Kenneth "Hockey" Hock Ousted in 8th Place

Level 13 : 700/1,400, 100 ante
Kenneth "Hockey" Hock
Kenneth "Hockey" Hock

Mike Summers opened the pot with a raise only to be met by a three-bet from Peter Kaemmerlen in the cutoff. When action reached Kenneth "Hockey" Hock in the small blind, he moved all in for his last 18,000 or so, which inspired Summers to folded. Kaemmerlen snap-called.

Kaemmerlen: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Hock: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

There have been a lot of big pocket pairs thus far at the final table, and Hock had the short end of the stick on this hand. The {10-Spades}{j-Clubs}{10-Hearts} flop didn't change a thing, though it did inspire Summers to reveal that he had folded {j-}{10-}.

"You saved him," Summers said to Hock about Kaemmerlen, indicating he would have called the three-bet. Unfortunately for him, that's not how things played out.

The {5-Diamonds} turn was no help to Hock, and neither was the {5-Hearts} river. Kaemmerlen's aces held and Hock was out in eighth place with nothing to show for it.

Full House for Neunkirchner

Level 13 : 700/1,400, 100 ante

Action folded to Mike Summers on the button and he put in a raise to 3,000. Fritz Neunkirchner was next to act in the small blind and he opted to move all in for 12,900. The big blind folded and Summers called the additional 9,900.

Neunkirchner: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Summers: {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

Neunkirchner was ahead with two big cards, but Summers was drawing live to the low suited connectors.

"I like his chances," someone at the table said when the {4-Spades}{j-Spades}{a-Hearts} flop delivered Neunkirchner a full house. Indeed, the two pair was strong, but his hand became invincible when the {A-Clubs} turn gave him a full house. After the {Q-Clubs} completed the board on the river, Neunkirchner was shipped the double, though he is still on the shorter side.

Kaemmerlen Doubles Through Kostelac

Level 13 : 700/1,400, 100 ante

With 30,000 or so already in the pot and a board reading {5-Spades}{7-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades}, John Kostelac bet 20,000 and then called when Peter Kaemmerlen moved all in for 10,000 more. Kostelac held the {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for top pair, but he was drawing dead as Kaemmerlen turned over the {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} for a set. The meaningless {J-Hearts} was put out on the river for good measure, and Kaemmerlen was shipped the double.

Jason Thomas Eliminated in 9th Place

Level 13 : 700/1,400, 100 ante
Jason Thomas - 9th Place
Jason Thomas - 9th Place

A massive hand just went down between the two chip leaders.

It began when Jason Thomas, who began the day second in chips, opened for 3,200 only to have Bradley Yazici, the chip leader, three-bet to 7,500. Action folded back to Thomas, and he pushed back with a four-bet to 16,000. Not to be outdone, Yazici five-bet to 35,000, Thomas six-bet to 60,000, and Yazici seven-bet shoved, which Thomas called.

Yazici: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Thomas: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}

The table and railbirds erupted in disbelief at the cooler hand. Little did they know it'd get worse. The {4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop wasn't anything special, but the {K-Diamonds} turn was for Yazici. He spiked his two outer and Thomas was visibly shaken. The {6-Clubs} river failed to change a thing, and Thomas just stared as the dealer verified the stacks. Yazici held 168,800, which was barely more than Thomas' 163,400.

The cooler sent Thomas to the rail empty handed in ninth place, while Yazici has nearly half the chips in play.
