Three Eliminations During Break

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

To quote Ron Burgundy, that escalated quickly.

While break was about to begin, there were two all ins and three eliminations, bringing our field to 17 players.

In the first elimination, Peter Brooks was all in and at risk with {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} on a flop of {6-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{q-Spades}. Unfortunately he was crushed by Robert Lakey's {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}, and the {a-Spades} on the turn ended the hand.

Over on Table 33, there was a three-way all in preflop between Frank Wyville, Pete Weber, and Thomas Morse.

Wyville: {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
Weber: {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Morse: {a-}{q-}

The board ran out {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts}, and Wyville scored the double knockout.

Break

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The players are on their final 15-minute break of the evening. While you wait for more updates, feast on these poker stereotypes:

Cartwright Clubs Metheny

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Kyle Cartwright
Kyle Cartwright

Jovan Sudar raised to 2,700 from under the gun, Kyle Cartwright called on the button, Todd Metheny called out of the small blind, and Damjan Radanov defended his big blind.

The dealer fanned {3-Spades}{8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, the action checked to Cartwright, and the seven-time World Series of Poker Circuit ring winner fired out 4,400. Only Metheny called.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds}, Metheny tapped the felt, and Cartwright reached for chips. He tossed forward 8,500, Metheny called, and the river was a very interesting card; the {2-Clubs}.

Not only did it pair the board, it brought a third club, and Metheny checked once more. Cartwright flipped forward a very small bet of 6,500 - less than a fifth of the pot - and Metheny called.

Cartwright showed {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a flush, winning the pot.

Moneymaker KO's Koenen

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

According to Chris Moneymaker, Chris Koenen limped in from middle position, Robert Lakey completed from the small blind, and the 2003 World Series of Poker Main Event champ raised to 3,000 from the big blind. Only Koenen called.

The flop came down {10-}{8-}{6-}, Moneymaker led out for 2,500, and Koenen moved all in. Moneymaker called.

Moneymaker: {10-}{10-}
Koenen: {k-}{j-}

Koenen was drawing dead after a meaningless turn card, and hit the rail. Moneymaker now has 152,000 chips.

Raiser's Re-Morse

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Thomas Morse raised to 3,500 in middle position, Jerry Milanos called in the big blind, and both players checked on a flop of {10-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{10-Spades}. The turn was the {2-Clubs}, Milanos check-called a bet of 6,000, and the river was a third heart - the {7-Hearts}.

Milanos led out for 10,000, and Morse thought for a bit before folding.

Jacks for Kingston

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Three player took a flop of {4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{7-Spades}; Matthew Kingston, Derek Shroeder, and Damjan Radanov. Radanov fired out 3,000, Shroeder called, and Kingston raised to 7,700. Only Radanov called.

The turn was the {q-Diamonds}, both players checked, and the river was the {7-Hearts}. The pair knuckled once more.

Kingston showed {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}, and won the pot.

Taylor Takes Off

Jonathan Taylor busts
Jonathan Taylor busts

Jonathan Taylor was all in and at risk with {q-}{q-} on a board of {2-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}, and was in great shape to double against Michael Belken's {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, but unfortunately for the 2013 World Series of Poker bracelet winner the {9-Spades} spiked on the river.

Taylor graciously wished his opponents good luck, then headed for the rail. Belken is up to 60,000 chips.

Deborah Phillips, Peter Nigh, and Johnathan Dahlberg have also been eliminated.

We're unsure of the exact details, but Stuart Breakstone was overheard telling Chris Moneymaker that he busted with "pocket kings against ace-rag."
