Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

Aaron Johnson bet 3,000 into a pot of about 4,500 from the button on a {9-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} flop. The small blind folded but Nadya Magnus peeled from the big blind, bringing a {6-Clubs}. Magnus checked and Johnson thought briefly then shoved for 20,300.

Roberts Ousted Again

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Shawn Roberts
Shawn Roberts

Shawn Roberts was all in for 10,500 when we arrived at his table, from the button with a pot of about 18,000 in the middle. The board read {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Two opponents were yet to act, and after the big blind tank-folded, the third player snap-called and showed {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}.

Roberts' cards were briefly turned over but the dealer mucked them before we could see what they were.

Alsup Loses Most of Stack

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Rich Alsup checked out of the blinds on {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Peter Lawson bet 3,100 from middle position. Alsup made it 7,200 and Lawson called. On the {5-Clubs} turn, Alsup bet 6,400 and Lawson called. The river was the {7-Hearts} and Alsup barreled again for 10,000. Lawson shoved for 21,600.

After getting a count, Alsup called and Lawson showed {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} for a turned boat. Alsup mucked in dismay and his {8-Spades}{6-Clubs} was turned over.

Skreens Bluffs Some Off

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante
Bryan Skreens
Bryan Skreens

On his second bullet, Bryan Skreens fired 7,000 from middle position on a completed board of {6-Spades}{2-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}. It was a small-ish bet into a pot of around 24,000, and his opponent in early position thought things through for a bit before splashing in a call.

"Good call," Skreens said.

When his opponent didn't show, Skreens repeated the words, and he was shown {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}. He frowned and nodded before mucking.

Pupillo Folds to Ralph Massey

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

With about 13,000 in the pot and {5-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{7-Hearts} on the board, Nick Pupillo checked in the hijack and called 3,000 from Ralph Massey, on the button. On the {2-Hearts} river Pupillo checked and Massey jammed for 16,000 or so effective. Pupillo shook his head and after about 30 seconds of thought, folded showing the {a-Hearts}.
