Day 1d Started
What once seemed like an infinite stretch of Day 1 possibilities to bag a stack has come down to one final starting flight at HPT Ameristar East Chicago $1,650 Main Event. It's time for Day 1d, the last chance for any players who have yet to find a bag to do so and advance to Monday's Day 2.
Thus far, 417 entries have been logged for a total prize pool around $600,000. Sixty-seven of those have made it to Day 2, which means a whole lot of players are still left wanting and needing to fire here on Mother's Day if they wish to take home any piece of the burgeoning pool of dough.
Some of the players taking shots who have yet to find a bag, meaning they may be in action today, include Nick Pupillo, Will Givens, Greg Raymer, Niel Mittelman, John Reading and Ryan Tosoc.
Day 1d will once again see 15 levels played, lasting 40 minutes apiece, with players allowed to enter as many times as they wish. Blinds will open at 100/100 and climb until they hit 2,000/4,000 with a 4,000 big blind ante, interspersed with a dinner break after Level 9.
Day 1b's Nadya Magnus set the bar high by turning 30,000 into just shy of 500,000, with nobody on Day 1c coming close to overtaking her. To find out if anyone can top that hefty count, stay tuned to PokerNews for live updates throughout the day.
