Roberts Shows a Bluff

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Shawn Roberts
Shawn Roberts

In the last level, numerous players saw a {6-Hearts}{k-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop for 2,000 apiece and Shawn Roberts bet 3,300 in middle position. Action folded to Niel Mittelman, who called from early position and they saw a {2-Clubs} turn heads up. Mittelman checked and Roberts sized down to 1,700. Mittelman called and the river was the {4-Diamonds}. Mittelman checked again and Roberts bet 15,000.

After some thought and some table talk from Mittelman that we couldn't hear, he mucked. Roberts flicked {j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} into the middle and dragged the pot.

Schutten Busted Again

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

We didn't see the action, but Brek Schutten got his last 16,200 in on a board of {j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs} from late position. Anwar Baig had him at risk but was drawing with {a-Spades}{9-Spades}, with Schutten's {k-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} good for a leading pair. The river was the {10-Spades} and Schutten was barely covered, so he hit the rail again.

From the chatter after the hand, it sounded like Schutten shoved over a turn bet.

Rhodes Binks River Before Dinner

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

On a board of {4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}, a player in early position checked and Brad Rhodes bet a little over 11,000 into a pot of about 33,000. His opponent shoved all in and Rhodes called off his last 25,000 or so.

Brad Rhodes: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Opponent: {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

Rhodes had run into the nuts but he binked the {8-Clubs} on the river to make the nuts himself.

Players are now on break for an hour.

Campbell Can't Get There

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Andrew Campbell
Andrew Campbell

Andrew Campbell got his last 16,100 in preflop with {a-Spades}{j-Spades} and was up against the {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} of an opponent who isolated on the button. The {5-Clubs}{2-Spades}{8-Spades} brought nothing for Campbell but the {7-Spades} gave him a flush draw. The {10-Hearts} improved his opponent, however, and Campbell headed for the door.
