Berger Holds With Aces; Takes Huge Chip Lead

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
David Berger
David Berger

A player in early position opened to 6,500 and David Berger three-bet from the hijack to 15,00. Action folded back to the opener and he called.

The flop came {j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{10-Spades} and the player in early position check-called a continuation-bet of 25,000.

The turn came {3-Hearts} and the early-position player checked again. Berger fired another barrel for 50,000 and saw his opponent shove all in. After getting the bets raked in, it was totaled that he had to call another 98,700. He thought for a bit and made the call.

David Berger: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Opponent: {q-Spades}{j-Clubs}

Berger's aces were ahead of his opponent's top pair with a gutshot straight draw. The river came {10-Diamonds} and he secured the knockout, winning the huge pot along the way.

Collins Finds Two Streets

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

Greg Collins raised to 5,500 from early position and action folded around to the big blind, who defended. The flop came {j-Spades}{3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and the big blind check-called a continuation-bet from Collins of 4,000.

The turn came {4-Diamonds} and both players checked. The river was {8-Hearts} and the big blind checked. Collins put out another bet of 4,000 and the big blind thought for a moment.

"Gonna suck some more value out of me?" he said before calling.

Collins turned over {j-Hearts}{9-Spades} for a pair of jacks. The big blind mucked.

"Yes," another player at the table answered as the entire side of the table laughed about it.

Sloan Doubles; Grisham Loses Minimum

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

Shane Sloan limped from under the gun and the player on the button raised to 4,800. Matt Grisham three-bet to 17,500 and both Sloan and the player on the button called.

The flop came {7-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{10-Spades} and Grisham checked. Sloan shoved all in for around 50,000 and the player on the button went all in over the top for around 115,000.

Grisham went into the tank, eventually folding what he said was {a-}{k-} after the hand

Shane Sloan: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Opponent: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}

The turn {9-Spades} gave Sloan a bit more of a sweat as his opponent picked up outs to a gutshot straight draw, however the river fell {3-Diamonds} and he doubled up.
