Turn Card Coolers Snuffer

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

In a four-way limped pot, the dealer fanned the flop of {8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades}. The action checked around to the {5-Diamonds} on the turn and Jake Bazeley checked again from the small blind. Timothy Burden bet 75,000 in the big blind and Iverson Snuffer raised to 205,000 in the cutoff.

Matthew Hils announced all in on the button and both Bazeley and Burden quickly dispatched their cards. Snuffer thought for a brief moment but then made the call for his stack of just over 1,000,000 chips.

Hils turned over {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for the nut straight and it was a cooler situation for Snuffer who held {6-Spades}{4-Spades} for a smaller straight. The {2-Diamonds} on the river sealed Snuffer's fate and he was eliminated in 14th place.

Richardson Doubles, Whitt Eliminated

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

At one table, Douglas Songer opened from the hijack and Ian Richardson shipped all in for 510,000 in the cutoff. The button and blinds folded and Songer made a quick call.

Richardson tabled {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and was racing against the {a-Spades}{q-Hearts} of Songer. The board ran out {j-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and Richardson held on for a full double up.

At the other table, Leo Whitt got all of his chips in the middle holding {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts} but was called by the {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} of Jake Bazeley. Both players made a straight on the {j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} board but Bazeley's queen-high eliminated Whitt in 15th place.

Hils Finds a Timely Double Up Before Dinner Break

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Matthew Hils opened to 75,000 from under the gun and Joey Hiudt called from the hijack. George Janssen three-bet to 200,000 on the button and Hils pushed all in for 590,000. Hiudt got out of the way and Janssen asked for a count before making the call.

Matthew Hils: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
George Janssen: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Janssen had the preflop lead but the flop of {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades} paired the jack for Hils. The {5-Hearts} on the turn and the {2-Spades} on the river changed nothing as Hils scored a double up.

At the completion of that hand, the final 16 players went on a 60-minute dinner break.

Songer Backdoors Into One

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Douglas Songer
Douglas Songer

Justin Webb opened to 60,000 in middle position and was called by Angela Shade and Douglas Songer in the blinds. The flop came {j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and the action checked to Webb who continued for 100,000. Shade called and Songer came along as well.

The turn was the {k-Hearts} and both of the blinds checked again. Webb counted out a bet of 325,000 and Shade quickly called. Songer also decided to call and the {q-Hearts} landed on the river. Shade checked one more time and Songer shoved all in for 315,000. Webb went into the tank for a couple of minutes before finally calling and Shade reluctantly folded.

Songer turned over {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a flush while Webb tabled {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for just a pair of queens. Songer scored nearly a triple up to climb back over the 2,000,000 chip mark.

Big Slick Works for Kalb

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Donald Kalb opened to 80,000 from early position and the action folded around to Homi Syodia in the big blind. Syodia shoved all in for just under 300,000 and Kalb quickly called.

Donald Kalb: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Homi Syodia: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

Kalb was in a dominating position heading to the flop which came {10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. The {10-Hearts} on the turn gave Syodia some chop outs but the {7-Diamonds} on the river sent him to the payout desk in 17th place.

Yim Runs Into Janssen's Monster

Level 23 : 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

In a blind vs blind pot, the flop came {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. George Janssen checked from the small blind and Hae Yim checked it back from the big blind.

The turn was the {10-Clubs} and Janssen led out for 50,000. Yim called and the {9-Clubs} on the river put five clubs on the board. Janssen made a pot-sized bet of 225,000 and Yim ripped all in for 720,000.

"Do you have a straight flush?" Janssen asked. "I don't think I'm folding." The dealer counted the chips and Janssen indeed made the call.

Yim was forced to show his {7-Hearts}{6-Spades} to play the board and Janssen held {k-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} for the nut flush. Yim sent all of his chips next door and Janssen moved into the chip lead with just two tables remaining.

Havener Drops to Snuffer

Level 23 : 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Iverson Snuffer just made a big call against Gregory Wood to double up and he was back in the action again just a couple of hands later. Snuffer raised to 110,000 on the button and Don Havener pushed all in for 420,000 in the big blind. Snuffer asked for a count and then made the call.

Iverson Snuffer: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Don Havener: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

The flop came {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts} to give Havener the lead as he stood up from his seat. However, Snuffer spiked the {10-Hearts} on the turn to retake the lead. The {8-Diamonds} on the river improved Snuffer to a full house and Havener was eliminated.
