Burden Climbs Over One Million

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Tim Burden
Tim Burden

Timothy Burden opened from early position and Neal Harding just called on his left. John Mingus pushed in the last of his 40,000 chips and Doug Holland also shipped all in for 120,000 on the button. Burden re-shoved which forced Harding out and all three hands remaining were tabled.

Timothy Burden: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Doug Holland: {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
John Mingus: {k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

Burden held the best hand at the moment but he needed to dodge plenty of cards to maintain the lead. The board ran out {j-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Burden stood up to give a fist pump as he climbed over 1,000,000 chips for the first time today.

Michael Rieck was surviving on a short stack for quite a while and the time finally came to get the last of his 130,000 chips into the middle. Donald Kalb also pushed all on his left and the rest of the table folded.

Donald Kalb: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Micahel Rieck: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}

The flop came {a-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and Kalb took the lead with by hitting his ace. The {10-Diamonds} on the turn and the {8-Spades} on the river narrowly missed Rieck as he headed to the payout desk.

Webb Gets Caught Bluffing

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Justin Webb opened to 25,000 from under the gun and was called by William Byrnes in the hijack and Ian Richardson in the big blind. The flop came {k-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and Richardson checked to Webb who continued for 50,000. Byrnes called and Richardson got out of the way.

The turn was the {j-Clubs} and Webb pushed in a bet of 125,000. Byrnes instantly shoved all in for 172,000 and Webb leaned back in his chair like he just got caught red-handed. Webb asked for a count and thought for over a minute before eventually tossing his cards to the muck.

Wood Had One Foot Out the Door

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Daniel Sepiol raised it up from the cutoff and Gregory Wood moved all in for 158,000 from the big blind. Sepiol made a quick call to put Wood at risk and the cards were on their backs.

Gregory Wood: {a-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Daniel Sepiol: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

The flop of {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{10-Hearts} gave Wood a few more outs with a two-way straight draw. The {9-Spades} on the turn and the {9-Hearts} on the river gave Wood a straight but he wasn't convinced. Wood threw his chips into the middle and started to walk away until the rest of the table clued him in that he had the best hand.

Richardson Wins the Battle of the Blinds

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

The action folded around to the small blind who made it 26,000 to go. Ian Richards defended from the big blind and the flop fell {6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. The small blind led out for 58,000 and Richardson shoved all in. His opponent thought for a moment and then called off his stack of 190,000.

Ian Richardson: {5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}
Opponent: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Richardson out-flopped his opponent by hitting two pair but would still need to hold. The {8-Hearts} on the turn and the {a-Diamonds} on the river changed nothing as Richardson stacked his opponent's chips.
