Wood Wakes up With Aces

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

HPT Lawrenceburg Champion Greg Wood opened the action with a raise to 6,000 preflop. David Berman reraised to 16,500, and action folded back to Wood, who four-bet all in for 65,700. Berman made the call and the two showed their hands.

Greg Wood: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
David Berman: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The board ran out {4-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades}{j-Spades}, which was clean for Wood and secured him the double.

Heaps for Zou Before Break

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Henry Zou
Henry Zou

Andrew Campbell completed the blinds and Henry Zou put in 12,000. Campbell called and {2-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} flopped. Campbell check-called 13,000, bringing a {2-Spades}. Campbell checked and Zou immediately announced all in and pushed forward a tower that easily set Campbell at risk for his last 42,500 or so. Campbell went into the tank for around a minute and mucked.

Players are now on break for 15 minutes.

Top Two Good for Berman

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

David Berman raised from the cutoff to 4,500 and it folded to Ron Dils who defended his big blind. Dils checked blind before the {4-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} flop and Berman made a continuation-bet of 3,000. Dils called, bringing the {6-Spades} turn. Both players checked, and the river came a {8-Diamonds}. Dils checked to Berman, who bet 8,000. After some thought, Dils flung two 5,000 chips into the pot to make the call.

Berman tabled {a-Spades}{j-Hearts} for top two pair, which was good as Dils sent his cards to the muck.

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Rich Finberg shoved all in for 21,700 and was called by Mikey Esquivel. A third player reraised all in for about 20,000 more and Esquivel made the call.

Finberg: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Esquivel: {k-}{k-}
Third player: {j-}{j-}

The board ran out {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{x-}{4-Hearts}, giving Finberg the full triple while Esquivel's kings took the side pot.

"I Usually Don't Have It"

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

There was three way action on a flop reading {9-Hearts}{j-Spades}{j-Clubs} with around 18,000 in the pot and Mikey Esquivel bet 5,000 from the cutoff after action was checked to him. George Scarborough called from the big blind and the third player folded. The turn was the {5-Diamonds} and Scarborough led for 2,000. Esquivel raised him to 15,800 and after about 30 seconds, Scarborough conceded his hand.

"Cmon, you guys have got to play sometimes!" Esquivel said. "I usually don't have it," he continued as he turned over the {3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} to let the whole table know he had gotten his bluff through.

Bad Read from Ali

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Ricky Ali fired big with 26,000 from middle position into about 30,000. The board read {3-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{q-Spades}{6-Spades} and Henry Zou was considering his options. He splashed in some calling chips.

"I thought you would ace-jack," Ali said, tabling {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}.

Zou had far weaker than that, but his {2-}{2-} was still a winner.
