Reilly Doubles, Pupillo Busts

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Bill Reilly got it in with {q-}{q-} but was crushed against another player's {k-}{k-}. The {a-}{3-}{3-} flop did Reilly no favors but he found a queen on the turn to double up his 25,000 or so.

At the neighboring table, the seat formerly housing James Pupillo is now empty, closing the book on a rough day for the poker-playing brothers, who contributed several shells to the prize pool.

Banhidy Binks

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Three players checked to the button in a limped pot, and the player there bet 3,000 on {2-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. The blinds mucked but Penny Banhidy called in middle position. On the {j-Clubs} turn, Banhidy fired out 6,000 and her opponent instantly shoved for 17,200. After getting the count, Banhidy called.

Penny Banhidy: {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Opponent: {j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

Banhidy needed a diamond or a king and found one when the {k-Hearts} hit the river.

Adam Friedman was wishing everyone good luck and heading out, celebrating a goal from his beloved Columbus Blue Jackets. We asked another player what happened, and he said Friedman was down to around 10 big blinds and stuffed it in with {a-}{k-} but couldn't overcome {q-}{10-} when a player paired his queen on the river.

Jablonski Eliminated by Dils' Quads

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Stan Jablonski raised from the hijack to 2,500 and received calls from Penny Banhidy on the button and Ron Dils out of the big blind. The flop came {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs}. Dils checked, and Jablonski bet 8,000. Banhidy quickly folded and Dils called. The turn came a {6-Hearts} and Dils checked to Jablonski, who put in 10,000 of his remaining 16,000 chips. Dils waited about ten seconds before putting in a raise.

"I guess you've got it," Jablonski said, as he put his last few chips into the pot and turned over {8-}{8-}. His suspicion was confirmed when Dils turned over the {k-Spades}{5-Hearts} for quads and took down the pot.

Bibb Clicks Call, Doubles

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
HPT Meadows Chips

Rich Finberg raised in late position and got action from both blinds. On the {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop, action checked to Finberg and he put in a sizable bet of 8,500. Small blind Chris Bibb continued and it was heads up to the {7-Clubs} turn. Bibb checked and Finberg piled in 40,400.

Bibb looked perplexed and counter his stack with a sigh. Finally, after about a minute he shrugged and announced he was all in for "about 80,000." Finberg called in short order and tabled {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} for an overpair and flush draw. He would need to improve as Bibb held {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} for top set.

The river was a {4-Diamonds} and Bibb pumped his fist. He collected 79,200.

Pupillo Eliminates Opponent With Aces

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

James Pupillo opened from early position to 2,700. A player in the hijack went all in for around 15,000 and action folded back to Pupillo who instantly called and turned over {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}. His opponent was drawing slim with {a-Spades}{q-Hearts} and the board ran out {9-Spades}{5-Spades}{10-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{q-Spades}, eliminating the player from the tournament.

"It's a Wonder I Have Any Chips Left"

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

A player in the big blind moved all in for 10,200 into a pot of over 30,000, and Ryan Ashman was thinking with {10-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades}{8-Clubs} on the board.

"Well, that's not the river card I wanted to see, but I'm gonna call," he said, flicking {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} into the middle.

Problem was, Penny Banhidy hadn't acted yet and action was on her. The dealer briefly attempted to cover up the cards but then decided it was too late. Banhidy asked what the situation was and some of the players informed her that Ashman had called.

"I'm gonna call," she announced.

The big blind showed an {a-Spades}{4-Hearts} to chop and Banhidy's hand was revealed to be {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}. She then explained she hadn't seen the revealed hand, admonishing herself for the error.

"It's a wonder I have any chips left," she grumbled.
