Snuffer Snuffed

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Iverson Cotton Snuffer
Iverson Cotton Snuffer

Iverson Cotton Snuffer pushed the last 18,000 or so he had on the turn with {3-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} on the felt and a large pot well over that sitting in the middle. Jake Sung was already all in covering that and turned over {k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for top pair. Snuffer was drawing with {j-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and bricked on the {6-Hearts} river.

Reilly Can't Goad Esquivel into a Bluff

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Mikey Esquivel checked in the big blind and called 7,000 from Bill Reilly in the cutoff on {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{k-Spades}. Both players checked the {3-Spades}, bringing a {5-Diamonds}.

"There's your bluff card," Reilly said as Esquivel thought for about 30 seconds.

Finally, Esquivel checked and Reilly quickly turned over his {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}. Esquivel double-checked his holding and mucked.

Kings Good for Sung

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

There was four-way action on the turn with about 22,000 in the pot and the board read {3-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. Action was on Jake Sung, who bet 12,000. Two players folded before Ray Joll put in a call. The river brought the {6-Diamonds} and Sung counted out his stack, which was around a pot size bet, before announcing a bet of 9,000. Joll made the call and Sung turned over {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} for top pair. Joll mucked and the pot was sent Sung's way.

Another Tough Day for Campbell

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante
Andrew Campbell
Andrew Campbell

Andrew Campbell's chips were being pushed to another player and we inquired as to how it happened. He said he got it in with queens but lost against ace-king to end his Day 1b hopes. One day after he busted late with the nut flush draw against an inferior flush draw, it hasn't been the best of times for Campbell at The Meadows after driving in from Chicago.

Still, he said he plans to fire Day 1c on Saturday.

A Chip and a Chair

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

Dean Schultz was down to his last couple of chips a few minutes ago but had recently spun his stack back up to 10,000. There was just a pot with three limps and action to Schultz in the small blind, who announced all in for his stack. Two of the three players called, including George Scarborough from the button, taking a potential side pot to the flop. The flop came {q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and the first player checked. Scarborough fired out a stack of chips and got his opponent to fold. It was then time to turn the cards up.

Schultz: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Scarborough: {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}

The turn and river came {a-Hearts} {9-Clubs} and Schultz now finds himself with a 15 big blind stack.

Schultz on Fumes

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

After an under-the-gun limp, Dean Schultz shoved in the next seat. His neighbor, Bill Reilly, jammed as well and everyone else mucked.

Dean Schultz: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Bill Reilly: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

Someone called it a "classic race" but Reilly was actually in a dominating spot. The {2-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Spades} helped Schultz a little with a straight draw but the {8-Hearts} and {6-Clubs} bricked off on the turn and river.

Ashman Raises Big and Folds

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

A player under the gun had a T5,000 chip in front of her and Ryan Ashman raised to 25,000 on the button. Small blind David Berman ripped all in for about 100,000, folding out both the first player and Ashman, who thought about 30 seconds before conceding.

Stevens Over Ebanks in Three-Bet Pot

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante
Joe Ebanks
Joe Ebanks

Jimmy Stevens opened the hijack to 6,000 and was met by a three-bet to 20,000 from Joe Ebanks. He called, and the flop came {2-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{4-Spades}. Stevens checked to Ebanks, who bet 13,000. Stevens called, and then checked on the {j-Clubs} turn. Ebanks fired a second bullet for 21,000 and Stevens again called. The river came a {9-Clubs} and Stevens checked a third time. Ebanks thought for a few moments and tapped the table to check back and take the hand to showdown.

Stevens turned over {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and his top pair, top kicker was good enough for Ebanks to muck his hand.
