Martinez Doubles With Jacks

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

There was a little over 25,000 in the middle on a board of {3-Spades}{7-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and Anthony Martinez had an all-in bet of 13,100 in front of him from the small blind.

Action was Austin Peck, who was in the tank from the hijack. After a bit of thought, he put in chips to call.

Anthony Martinez: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Austin Peck: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

Martinez needed to fade the two nines in the deck and eight straight outs that Peck had to knock him out. He would do just that as the board paired on the river {8-Hearts} to leave him with jacks up and the best hand along with a freshly-earned double.

Driggers Dusts Holland

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Stephen Driggers
Stephen Driggers

A player in early position raised to 900 and was three-bet all in by Maxx Holland to 4,700 out of middle position. Action folded around to Stephen Driggers, who was in the big blind and went all in over the top for a pile. The original raiser folded.

Maxx Holland: {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Stephen Driggers: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

Holland would need to improve to stay away from the rail and was unable to do so as the board ran out {5-Spades}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{2-Hearts}.

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

There was 4,000 in the pot from preflop action as Wendy Freedman bet 2,400 from the button after her opponent in early position checked to her. The board read {j-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{6-Spades} and the early-position player put in chips to call.

The turn came {q-Clubs} and both players checked. The river fell {8-Diamonds} and the early-position player checked again. Freedman bet 4,500 and quickly got a fold.

Meanwhile, Mike Itoafa and Jon Cohen have both been spotted in the tournament area after recently joining the field.

Bruce Wins Pot Versus Pupillo and Givens

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Nick Pupillo opened the action with a raise to 800 from early position. He received calls from Connie Bruce, who was on the button, and Will Givens, who was in the small blind.

The flop fell {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Spades} and Givens checked to Pupillo, who made a continuation-bet of 1,400. Bruce called, putting action back on Givens, who quickly sent his cards to the muck.

Both players checked the turn {5-Diamonds}, bringing the river {6-Spades}. Pupillo checked. Bruce then cut out a bet of 3,500 and put it into the pot. Pupillo thought for about 10 seconds and sent his cards to the muck.

Van Horn Makes a Straight Flush

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

There was around 12,000 in the pot on the river with a board of {10-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and three players with cards in front of them. Bill Van Horn was first to act from middle position and bet 2,000. He received a call from the hijack to put action on Nicholas Marchitti, who was on the button.

"I fold," Marchitti said as his cards landed on the felt face up, displaying {a-Spades}{k-Spades}.

Van Horn announced a straight flush, showing {8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}.

The dealer reaffirmed the announcement and sent the pot to Van Horn upon the hijack mucking.
