Another Round of Chip Counts

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

Schindler at Risk Versus Pupillo

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

Nick Pupillo opened from early position to 1,200 and saw a call from Josh Schindler in middle position, as well as the cutoff.

Pupillo checked the {k-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop over to Schindler, who threw out 3,000, leaving just 5,500 behind. The cutoff folded, and Pupillo quickly called.

When the {7-Clubs} turn hit the felt, Pupillo tossed in enough chips to cover Schindler, who instantly called.

Schindler: {k-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Pupillo: {k-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Drawing to a chop regardless, the {5-Spades} river changed nothing, and the players split the pot.

A Round of Chip Counts

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

Davidson Falls to Wagner

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante
Nick Davidson
Nick Davidson

Season XV HPT The Meadows champ Dan Wagner raised to 1,200 from middle position, and Season XV HPT Ameristar East Chicago champ Nick Davidson three-bet shoved for 8,300 from the button. The big blind cold-called, and Wagner four-bet jammed for 31,900. The big blind snap-called.

Nick Davidson: {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Dan Wagner: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Big Blind: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

Davidson picked up a little hope on the {2-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} flop, but that was extinguished after Wagner drilled the {q-Clubs} turn, giving Wagner a set of queens and leaving the big blind looking for a two-outer of his own to score the double knockout. The {9-Spades} bricked off, and Wagner scooped in the pot.

Zou on the Rise

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Henry Zou
Henry Zou

Peter Nigh raised to 900 from early position, and Henry Zou, who's been on a tear in the last level, made the call in middle position.

Both players checked the {2-Spades}{8-Clubs}{10-Hearts} flop, and Nigh checked again on the {3-Diamonds} turn. Zou bet 1,600 and Nigh called.

Nigh checked again on the {8-Hearts} river, and Zou bet 3,000. Nigh, who had just 10,000 behind, tanked for a minute before calling, only to muck after Zou flipped over {8-Spades}{7-Hearts} for trip eights.

Top Pair Good for Thornton

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

Kyle Cartwright opened the action to 1,000 from early position and was called by John Thornton on the button, as well as the player in the big blind.

All three players checked the {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop. Cartwright checked the {q-Diamonds} turn as well, after which Thornton tossed in 1,600. The big blind folded, and Cartwright called.

After the {2-Spades} river saw no action, Thornton rolled over {a-Hearts}{3-Spades} as Cartwright peeked at his hand once more and mucked.

Hinkle Wins Classic Flip For a Double

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Blair Hinkle
Blair Hinkle

Blair Hinkle had his last 31,100 in preflop from the big blind and was at risk against a player on the button.

Blair Hinkle: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Hinkle's queens would hold on a {3-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs}{7-Hearts} board to earn the double.

Hammers Gets His Kings Cracked

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

A player limped in from early position, and a middle position player raised to 1,200. Timothy Vance called from the cutoff, and Tom Hammers said, "Thirty-two of the hundreds," three-betting to 3,200. Only the middle position player and Vance called.

Action checked to Hammers on a {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop, and he said, "I'm all in," pushing his last 15,100 in the pot. The middle position player folded, and Vance quickly called.

Tom Hammers: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Timothy Vance: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Hammers held the lead with his kings, but was looking to fade a lot of outs, as Vance held the nut flush draw and a pair of tens. The {5-Spades} turn added a wheel draw to Vance's outs, and the {2-Hearts} river completed Vance's straight, sending Hammers to the cage to re-enter.

O'Neill Seals a Double

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Mike O'Neill got his last 10,800 in from the big blind and was at risk against the button.

Mike O'Neill: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Opponent: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

O'Neill got no help on the {6-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop, prompting his opponent to say, "Seven!"

Instead, the {a-Clubs} hit the turn, giving O'Neill a huge lead with his aces-up.

"Nine!" said the button, but the {5-Clubs} gave O'Neill the double with his fives-full of aces.
