Vatseris Cracks Aces In Biggest Pot of Main Event

Konstantinos Vatseris had four-bet Cosmin Nica to 500,000, after which Nica jammed all in for 1,600,000, an average stack. Vatseris went deep into the tank but eventually made the call to put Nica at risk.

Nica had Vatseris dominated in the huge pot, but the 6♦J♠2♥ flop brought Vatseris a set to reverse the enormous lead. Neither the 10♦ turn nor K♥ river brought an ace, resulting in Nica's unfortunate elimination.

Vatseris, meanwhile, raked in the huge pot and ascended back to the chip lead, playing nearly 150 big blinds.

Picking up the action on a turn of 8♥8♦A♦8♠, Paul Corrway checked out of the big blind to Vidmantas Beliauskas in early position. Beliauskas made a bet of 225,000, after which Corrway jammed all in.

Beliauskas quickly tossed in his stack of 725,000 chips to risk his tournament life.

"If you have an ace, you win," Beliauskas claimed before the showdown. However, that turned out to be a lie as the J♣ river gave the Lithuanian a better full house.

He raked in a lucky double-up and thanked his lucky stars as he sat back down.

Nica then jammed all in for 1,180,000 chips. Tsouloftas asked for a count but decided it were too many chips to risk and mucked his cards.

Nedelcu then threw 500,000 chips into the pot of 225,000, which sent Shanley into the tank. Shanley mulled his options over for a bit before shrugging his shoulders and making the call.

Nedelcu instantly mucked his cards, while Shanley showed 7♥7♦ for two pair to rake in the pot, chipping up to two and a half times the average stack.
