Romero Gets Shown Big Bluff

Level 24 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Alex Romero
Alex Romero

Alejandro Romero had raised from middle position and Boris Chong-Sit three-bet from the big blind. Romero made the call and a flop of 6J2 fanned out.

Chong-Sit continued for 175,000 chips, which Romero called. Chong-Sit then checked blind before the K turn fell, and Romero checked behind after seeing the card.

On the A river, Chong-Sit pushed forward 275,000 chips, to which Romero quickly folded.

Chong-Sit tabled his 94 for nine-high, which got a smile out of Romero.

Creighton Back to Start

Level 24 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Shortly after losing half his stack, Sean Creighton three-bet all in from the button for 425,000 chips and was called by initial raiser Christopher Johnson in middle position.

Sean Creighton: 1010 All in
Christopher Johnson: AQ

Creighton stood up and put on his jacket, but quickly sat down as the 76829 board meant his tens held for the double-up.

Adjustments to Schedule

Level 23 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

The scheduling of Day 3 of the Irish Open Main Event has been slightly altered.

A 60-minute dinner break has been planned after Level 28, and play will go on until the end of Level 32 or eight players remain, whichever comes sooner.

Johnston Holds

Level 23 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

With 250,000 chips already in the middle on a flop of J76, all of Mark Johnston's 535,000 chips flew in from the big blind against Sean Creighton in the hijack.

Mark Johnston: QJ All in
Sean Creighton: KQ

Johnston just needed to fade a king, and he did just so when the board ran out 23 to secure his double-up.

Four-Bets Get Through

Level 23 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Michail Tastanis raised to 50,000 from the hijack and Kully Sidhu made it 160,000 to go in the cutoff.

The action folded back to Tastanis, who mulled over his options before jamming all in for roughly 1,200,000 chips.

While being stared down by his opponent, Sidhu elected to muck his cards and grant the pot to Tastanis.

On an adjacent table, chipleader Konstantinos Vatseris raised to 55,000 from the cutoff and Nicklas Dehli three-bet to 175,000 on the button.

Vatseris made it 300,000 to go as a response, and Dehli quickly let his hand go, seeing Vatseris extend his lead.

Gassian Doubles Through Beltz

Level 23 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Hiep Ninh raised to 55,000 on the cutoff before David Gassian three-bet jammed for 320,000 on the button. Small blind Wouter Beltz then four-bet all in himself for roughly 1,100,000 chips, forcing Ninh out of the pot.

David Gassian: AQ All in
Wouter Beltz: 1010

Beltz remained ahead in the flip on the K44 flop and 7 turn, but Gassian spike the Q river to secure a double-up and stay in contention.

Davies Doubles Through Ahuja's Pressure

Level 23 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Ankit Ahuja
Ankit Ahuja

Alexander Davies had three-bet an earlier open to 150,000 from the cutoff before Ankit Ahuja jammed all in from the small blind. The initial raiser folded and Davies was sent into the tank.

Eventually, he put in a call to put his near-average stack of 805,000 at risk.

Alexander Davies: AK All in
Ankit Ahuja: A10

Davies was the only one who paired on the 3Q47K board, resulting in a big double-up. Ahuja, meanwhile, was left with less than 20 big blinds.
