Pete Linton Eliminated in 4th Place (€143,500)

Level 31 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante
Pete Linton
Pete Linton

Wow, what a hand; the biggest pot of the tournament so far.

Pete Linton opened on the button with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and Jakub Michalak three-bet to 1,200,000. Linton then clicked it back and min-four-bet and then instantly called when Michalak shoved all in for 17,000,000! Michalak turned over {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}.

Michalak flew into the lead when the {K-Hearts}{8-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop came into view and went further so when the {J-Spades} landed on the turn. Linton needed to spike a ten and only a ten on the river to stay alive in the tournament, but it was the {5-Spades} sending Linton to the rail and leaving Michalak with the welcome problem of having to stack up 28,000,000 chips!

Linton Catches on the River

Level 30 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Pete Linton raised on the button with {K-Clubs} {5-Clubs} and was called by Jakub Michalak in the big blind with {J-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}.

The flop was {8-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {2-Hearts}. Michalak checked his middle pair to the raiser and Linton bet 425,000. Michalak called and we saw a turn of {A-Diamonds}. Both players checked.

The {K-Spades} put Linton ahead and when it was checked to him a bet of 600,000 took it down.

One for El Fassey

Level 30 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Jakub Michalak raised to 400,000 with {a-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} and Xavier El Fassey called with {A-Clubs} {7-Clubs}. The flop was {K-Spades} {6-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}. Both players checked.

A {9-Clubs} on the turn gave El Fassey a chance to semi-bluff and he took it with a bet of 500,000. Michaklak folded.

El Fassy Goes on a Mini Heater

Level 30 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Xavier El Fassy has won back-to-back hands and looks to have grown in confidence. The first saw El Fassy open with {Q-Spades}{10-Spades} and Jakub Michalak call with {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. The flop came down {K-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades} and El Fassy took the pot down with a continuation bet.

The following hand, Pete Linton opened under the gun with {8-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and El Fassy got tricky and flat called in the big blind with {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}. El Fassy then check-called a 450,000 bet from Linton on a {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop. He then check-called a 775,000 bet on the {A-Diamonds} turn. The {K-Clubs} turn saw El Fassy move all in, but as soon as his hand touched his chips Linton had mucked.

Which Red Ace?

Level 30 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Nick Hicks raised in the small blind with {a-Hearts} {5-Clubs} and Jakub Michalak decided just to call in the big blind with {A-Diamonds} {6-Clubs}, perhaps fearing a 4-bet from the tighter Hicks.

The flop came {8-Diamonds} {k-Diamonds} {k-Spades}.

Hicks checked and Michalk bet 320,000. Hicks thought for a moment and called.

The turn was {6-Diamonds} and both players checked.

The river was a {7-Diamonds}. Hicks checked his cards. He knew he had a red ace but couldn’t recall which one it was. It was the wrong one so he checked. Michalak had the right red ace and his bet of 1,070,000 made Hicks fold.

One for Hicks

Level 30 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Nick Hicks raised to 320,000 with {A-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Xavier El Fassy defended with {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}.

The flop came {J-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and El Fassy checked and gave up his hand before Hicks could even bet.

El Fassy Check-Raises Linton off a Hand

Level 30 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Pete Linton opened to 325,000 from button holding {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Xaiver El Fassy called with {Q-Spades}{9-Diamonds} to see a {J-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop.

El Fassy checked and Linton bet 350,000 before the Frenchman came back over the top with a very fast check raise to 1,350,000. Linton thought for a minute or two but opted for a fold.
