Firework on the flop - Linton Busts Gardner

Folded around to Pete Linton in the small blind he raised to 24,000. Julian Gardner called from the big blind.

The flop was {10-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {10-Spades}

Linton led out with a bet for 240,000. Gardner thought for a while and then raised to 550,000.

Linton then thought for a long time. Checking his hole cards several times.

He eventually reached for a stack of and bet 2,700,000 enough to put Gardner all in.

Gardner called instantly and turned over {10-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds}

Linton showed his {A-Spades} {8-Spades}

There was a brief pause while Simon Trumper was summoned to call the action, and then the dealer dealt the last two cards.

The turn was {4-Spades} and the river was {K-Spades}

Runner, runner spades and Linton's nut flush sent Gardner crashing out of the ISPT with €26,520.

Hicks River Bet Forces Linton to Fold

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante

Nick Hicks and Pete Linton have played hundreds of not thousands of hands together in home games and at the Dusk Till Dawn club in Nottingham, so there is an interesting dynamic between the two.

They were just involved in a pot together when Hicks opened to 200 from early position and Linton called in the big blind. Linton then check-called a 120,000 bet on the {2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{9-Diamonds} flop and then checked again on the {4-Spades} turn. Hicks opted to check behind and the dealer brought the {A-Spades} into play.

Linton checked for a third time. Hicks bet 370,000 and Linton leaned back in his chair briefly before returning to is normal sitting position. Almost a minute passed before Linton mucked, Hicks giving him a wry smile as he reaped in the pot.

Two for Gardner

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante
Julian Gardner
Julian Gardner

As expected, this final table is pretty tense to start off with. Pete Linton opened to 210,000 from the button but quickly mucked when Julian Gardner raised all in from the small blind.

The very next hand saw Jakub Michalak raise to to 210,000 from UTG+1 before Julian Gardner made it 500,000 from the button. Michalak quickly folded.

Incidentally, this level has seen the appearance of the pink 500,000 chip.

First Flop at the Final Table

Level 27

It’s been a very cagey first twenty minutes at the final table of nine.

With no deals agreed the first prize is still €1,000,000 and the next person out will leave with “just” €26,520.

A min raise has so far been enough to take down the blinds and antes, but at last we saw a flop.

Nick Hicks raised to 175,000 from mid position and was called on his immediate left by Jakub Michalak. The blinds folded.

The dealer put out a flop of {4-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {5-Hearts}

Hicks smoothly put out a bet of 175,000 and Michalak folded.

The next level could sort the wheat from the chaff.

Deal or No Deal?

Level 27

During the dinner break the players discussed the possibility of a chopping up the remaining prize pool based on ICM and chip counts. Pete Linton refused to deal on ICM terms while the shortest stacks refused to deal based on chip counts. Therefore there has been no deal made at the moment. Will someone actually leave Wembley Stadium €1,000,000 richer?

There are 20 minutes remaining in this level.

Jean Miguel Lacerda Eliminated in 10th Place (€19,000)

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Jean Miguel Lacerda
Jean Miguel Lacerda

Our final table is set after Jean Miguel Lacerda busted out moments ago.

Ferhad Seyadi opened in the cutoff, Lacerda moved in from the button and Seyadi called. Seyadi showed {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} and Lacerda the {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}. By the river the board read {8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, sending Lacerda to the rail.

The final table members have been sent on a 60-minute dinner break, so rejoin us about 17:00 UK time as we play down to six players.
