De Michele Takes It on the River; Ribeiro Reflects Back on His Final Table

Level 12 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Alessandro De Michele, Bohdan Zahurskyi, and Massimiliano Zanasi built a pot of around 35,000 heading to the Q26 flop where action checked to De Michele on the button. He tossed out 15,000 and only Zahurskyi called.

The turn came the K and De Michele fired out 60,000 this time. Zahurskyi gave it some thought before mucking.

While the hand was in progress, Tomas Ribeiro wandered over to the table after busting and Alexi Skoulos congratulated him on his third-place run in the Platinum High Roller yesterday.

"I got emotionally invested. It's easy to look back and see mistakes," Ribeiro said.

"You're not a machine. Fourteen hours," Skoulos added.

Kozub Cannot Shake Off Tran

Level 12 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

With some 107,000 in the middle to the 98523 river, Tomasz Kozub bet 80,000 out of the blinds. He was up against Thanh Trung Tran who reluctantly called.

Kozub rolled over his KJ109 for the top pair and busted straight draw, which Tran had beat holding A954 for flopped two pair and a rivered wheel.

Gonzales Wins One; Loses One

Level 12 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

In four-way action to the 764 flop, the action checked to Inaki Gonzales on the button and he made it 30,000 to go. One opponent after the other folded and the Spaniard claimed the pot.

Soon after, Gonzales tangled with Andreas Krause as they headed to the AK24 turn. Krause bet 20,000 into 40,000 and Gonzales tank-folded to get shown the KK53 for a wheel and set of kings.

The business end of the The Grand Big Wrap PLO by $ZTO$ has been reached at the King's Resort in Rozvadov. Just two days remain for Pot-Limit Omaha specialists to showcase their tournament skills during the ongoing series in Europe's biggest poker arena, which is set to host a WSOP Circuit festival and the 2023 WSOP Europe in the upcoming weeks.

One of the marquee events on the schedule is the 2023 The Grand Big Wrap €2,350 Main Event, which has so far concluded the two starting days. Both flights attracted 128 entries and 91 players advanced but these figures are subject to change. When Day 2 kicks off at 2 p.m. local time, the late registration will be open for another two levels.

During that time, unlimited re-entries are allowed and several of the High Roller contestants are expected to embark on a journey to run up a stack. They will receive 100,000 in chips and two duplicate levels with blinds of 2,000-4,000 and a big blind ante of 4,000 conclude the registration period. As of Day 2 and until a winner has been crowned, the levels will last 60 minutes each.

Leading the field into today's proceedings is Italy's Massimiliano Zanasi with 936,000 and Day 1a chip leader Tomasz Kozub follows with 807,000, narrowly ahead of Mats Nylander (784,000). The always dangerous Dorel Eldabach (713,000) is just one of several notables in the top ten, which also includes Oswin Ziegelbecker (690,000).

Among the PLO specialists still in contention are Grzegorz Derkowski, Duarte Baptista, Jakob Madsen, Leonid Yanovski, the inaugural Big Wrap Main Event winner Lautaro Guerra, as well as 2022 WSOP Europe Main Event champion Omar Eljach.

With the late registration still open, several big names are expected to join the fray such as the €10,000 High Roller winners Quan Zhou and Filip Lovric. The latter wrapped up his victory this morning after the sun had already gone up outside of the poker arena. Jan-Peter Jachtmann and Joni Jouhkimainen also come to mind as potential late entries.

The prize pool information will be released once the registration has closed at the start of level 14 and it is expected that more than the €500,000 guarantee will be up for grabs. Depending on the progress throughout the day, the penultimate tournament day may reach the nine-handed final table for tomorrow's live-streamed conclusion or stop prior to that.

Stay tuned right here on PokerNews to find out who becomes the next The Grand Big Wrap €2,350 Main Event champion!
