Alexandre Gomes has just become the latest casualty of Day 1. Working with {A-Spades}

and a short stack, he ended up all in before the flop. He was in trouble though, at risk for his tournament life against his opponent's {A-Diamonds}

. Gomes made two pair, but that ten on the river also filled in his opponent's straight, spelling the end for the PokerStars pro.

Gomes was up and down today, active in many pots. He was healthy for much of the day but has been slipping steadily since the dinner break. After his exit, Gomes joined fellow Brazilian pros Andre Akkari and Maria Mayrinck, all three of whom are now spectators on the rail.
