Dinner Break

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

With 196 entries showing on the tournament clock, the 124 remaining players have been sent for a 75-minute dinner break. Play should resume at approximately 8:12 p.m. local time.

Derei Makes the Right Call

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

The board read {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades}{j-Clubs}{6-Clubs} with a substantial pot in the middle already.

Jan Stigter checked from under the gun and so did Liran Derei in the hijack. Serdar Demircan bet 36,000 from the cutoff, Stigter tanked and then opted to fold. Derei made the call and stood up with a little dance when he saw his {a-Hearts}{7-Clubs} was good enough to scoop the pot.

Sebastiani Adds More to His Stack

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

Luca Sebastiani raised to 1,100 from the hijack and action folded to Mateusz Wozniak in the big blind which he defended.

They both checked through the {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop and the {5-Diamonds} on the turn to the {4-Diamonds} on the river. Wozniak bet 1,000 and Sebastiani snap-called. Wozniak tabled {9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} for the pair of nines. Sebastiani quickly turned over {j-Spades}{9-Hearts} for the same pair of nines with the higher kicker to win the hand.

Some Chip Counts

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

De Laat Triples Up Immediately

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

just before the end of the previous level, David Carasco raised to 900 from under the gun and action folded to Bas de Laat in the small blind. De Laat took some time and then decided to three-bet to 3,600. Lorenzo Bucci defended his big blind and Carasco opted to make the call too.

The flop came {j-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, De Laat checked, Bucci fired a bet of 15,000 over the line immediately. Carasco contemplated his options and then decided to shove for 26,000. De Laat looked at the clock and then decided to shove for more. Bucci asked for a count and the dealer confirmed De Laat had 27,900.

"Set? Set? Set?" Bucci wondered while looking at both of his opponents and the board. After a while, he made the call with the biggest stack.

David Carasco: {q-Spades}{j-Spades}
Bas de Laat: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Lorenzo Bucci: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Carasco had flopped top pair but both De Laat and Bucci held the overpairs with De Laat ahead of Bucci.

The turn was the {4-Spades} which didn't change anything and neither did the {4-Diamonds} on the river as De Laat busted Carasco and earned a full double-up through Bucci.

Demircan Hits a Straight Flush

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Serdar Demircan could be heard from the other side of the room as he stood up and celebrated a straight flush.

The flop read {6-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, Demircan bet 5,000 which his opponent called.

The turn was the {9-Clubs} for Demircan to hit the straight flush as he held {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. Demircan bet 3,000, his opponent shoved and Demircan called. The other player held {a-Clubs}{a-} for the flush to be drawing dead as it couldn't beat the straight flush of Demircan.
