Schaap Five-Bet Jams

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante
Ad Schaap
Ad Schaap

Ad Schaap just picked up a sizeable preflop pot after five-betting all in. A player in early position raised to 900 and Raoul Refos called the bet from middle position. Schaap sat on the button as he raised to 2,900. The initial raiser called the bet, but Refos bumped it up to 10,000.

Schaap thought about it for a minute before moving all in for about 38,000. The initial raiser folded and Refos followed quickly by throwing his cards in the muck.

Little Value for Lootsma

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante
Werner Lootsma
Werner Lootsma

Werner Lootsma raised to 800 from middle position and his left-hand neighbor, Daniyar Aubikirov called. Paul Hoefer called from the big blind.

The flop came down {3-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and it checked to Aubakirov. He put in a bet of 1,100 and Hoefer folded his hand. Lootsma was interested in the pot and he called.

The turn was the {5-Diamonds} and both players checked this time.

The {Q-Spades} fell on the river and Lootsma checked again to Aubakirov, but the trap did not work as Aubakirov checked behind.

Lootsma opened up {J-Spades}{J-Hearts} and it turned out he had flopped a full house, but he did not get much value out of Aubakirov.

Van den Berg Sees Through Feenstra's Bluff

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante
Rens Feenstra
Rens Feenstra

There was a raise to 800 and a call before Thierry van den Berg three-bet to 2,600 from late position. Rens Feenstra four-bet from the small blind to 7,600 and Van den Berg was the only player that called.

The flop came down {2-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Feenstra continued with a bet of 3,300. Van den Berg called again to see the turn.

The fourth card on the table was the {2-Spades} and Feenstra fired another time. He put 4,000 in the middle and Van den Berg called another time.

Feenstra pulled the trigger on the {Q-Clubs} river when he moved all in for about 12,000. Van den Berg thought about it for a bit before calling it off with {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}, which was enough to beat Feenstra's {A-}{K-}.

Feenstra told us he was going for the reentry.

Van Eck and Wetemans In, Spijkers Out

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Tonny van Eck just joined the field and Jasper Wetemans went for the reentry after he just ran ace-king into pocket aces.

Bart Spijkers seems to be the first player who got eliminated from the tournament twice. Players have the option to reenter every flight once, so Spijkers has to wait until the 27th of November for Day 1B if he wants to fire another bullet.

Peters Sends One Home

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Tobias Peters three-bet from early position to 2,000 after the player under the gun had raised to 600. A third player with just 5,000 left moved all in and Peters called after the initial raiser folded.

Peters was flipping with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} against {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} but managed to come out on top after the {7-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{6-Clubs} runout.

Ruijs Leading the Tournament

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante
Joris Ruijs
Joris Ruijs

Joris Ruijs won the €10,000 High Roller at the Master Classics of Poker last year and he has a stellar start in the Main Event this year. He's already up to over three times the starting stack.

He was involved in a heads-up pot against [Removed:172] where there was about 4,000 in the middle and the flop read {4-Spades}{10-Spades}{8-Clubs}. Kramer had checked to Ruijs and the Dutchman bet 2,100. Kramer called to see the {8-Diamonds} turn.

Both players checked this time and the {4-Hearts} was dealt on the turn. Kramer lead out with a bet of 4,800 on the river and Ruijs immediately called.

Kramer showed {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, but that was not enough to take down the pot as Ruijs opened up {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}.
