Veldhuis Busts

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Twitch poker sensation Lex Veldhuis has exited the Master Classics of Poker Main Event.

According to Bryan Paris, Veldhuis shoved his last 15 or so big blinds to the middle from the hijack. Teun Mulder in the small blind looked him up with {A-}{10-} suited. Veldhuis showed {A-}{Q-} off but was in a world of trouble as soon as the flop came ten-high. Veldhuis didn't improve on the turn or river.

"Gee fucking gee," Veldhuis said when we ran into him seconds later. Good game.

Alberto Stegeman
Alberto Stegeman

Joris Ruijs opened from middle position to 6,500 and the action folded to Alberto Stegeman in the big blind. The latter three-bet to 18,500 and Ruijs called in position.

Stegeman fired three streets. He bet 25,000 on the {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} flop, 42,000 on the {6-Clubs} turn, and 62,500 on the {2-Spades} river.

Ruijs called all streets but had to muck as he couldn't beat Stegeman's {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}.

Van Zadelhoff Eliminated

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Steven van Zadelhoff
Steven van Zadelhoff

Another fan-favorite has fallen; Steven van Zadelhoff can kiss his MCOP Main Event dreams goodbye.

Down to 13 big blinds, he pushed from the cutoff with {J-}{10-}. Unfortunately for the "Poker Viking," the big blind woke up with queens and wasn't willing to fold.

The board brought no solace to Van Zadelhoff and he made his way to the exit. He's going to jump into the qualifier for the €10,000 High Roller that's running.

Van Brugge Finds a Double

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

It folded to Kees van Brugge in the small blind and he shoved for a mere 14,500. Roope Tarmi in the big blind called.

Kees van Brugge: {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}
Roope Tarmi: {Q-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}

The board ran out {3-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{9-Clubs} and Van Brugge doubled his small stack.

54 players remain in the Main Event, 44 get paid.

The Play Slows Down

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

As one might have expected, the play has slowed down a bit. With the bubble under a table away, the players are a little bit more cautious. 50 players remain.

O'Dwyer Not Willing to Play for it All

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

When we arrived, we were just in time to see Steve O'Dwyer (cutoff) call a bet of 18,000 on {A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. James King (small blind) bet again, now 33,000 on the {K-Clubs} turn. O'Dwyer called once more.

The river came the {J-Clubs} and King shoved all in. O'Dwyer, with still a sizable stack behind, decided to lay it down.
