Farah Spilled By Better Straight

Level 1 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Action came in in the turn as it read {a-Spades}{8-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}. From the hijack, Andrei Kaigorodtcevbet 3,000. Elie Farah raised to 8,300 from the big blind.

Kaigorodtcev thought for a while and three-bet to 28,000. Farah quickly went all in and was snap-called.

Farah saw the bad news as he tabled the {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} straight but was up against the {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} nut straight. He stood up and shook his head in frustration as the river came the {5-Diamonds} to officially bust him.

Maxim Lykov
Maxim Lykov

Simon Higgins bet 3,000 from middle position on a flop of {8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and was called by the big blind and Maxim Lykov from under the gun.

The turn came the {6-Spades} and the big blind led out for 8,000. Both Lykov and Higgins called as the {4-Spades} fell on the river.

Action checked to Lykov and he bet 17,500. "Got sixes, man. Got sixes," Higgins said as he went into the tank before calling. The big blind also called as Lykov showed {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} for the flopped set that turned into a full house on the river.

The big blind flashed a {5-} before mucking while Higgins admitted he also had a full house. "Lucky river for both of you," the big blind said.

Aslan Finishes Off Tokhtabayev

Level 1 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Soon after losing an all-in pot with {10-Hearts}{9-Spades} to {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} on a board of {8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}, Timur Tokhtabayev moved his last 20,000 into the middle from the big blind and was called by Kemal Aslan.

Timur Tokhtabayev: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Kemal Aslan: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

Tokhtabayev was ahead until the {5-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{7-Spades} flop gave Aslan a pair of aces. The board ran out {10-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Tokhtabayev's kings were cracked to make him the first casualty of Day 1a.

Hursoz Calls With Ace High

Level 1 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Action was picked up on the river with a board reading {k-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}{4-Clubs}. Simon Higgins bet 8,000 over to Tugce Hursoz who thought for a few moments before she called.

Higgins tabled the {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for nothing. Hursoz had the {a-Hearts}{5-Spades} for ace high which was good enough to collect the pot.

Imad Saab and Motokatsu Uhara saw a board of {2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{10-Spades} when Saab bet 2,500 from the big blind. Uhara put in a raise to 10,000 from the hijack and Saab called.

The river came the {6-Diamonds} and Saab checked. Uhara this time bet 20,000 and sent Saab deep into the tank.

"Will you show me if I fold," Saab said after a few minutes. He eventually folded and flashed the {9-Clubs}.
