Livshitz Gets There on the River

Level 2 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante

With around 35,000 in the pot on a board of {4-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}, Gabi Livshitz bet 25,000 from under the gun before big blind Theodoros Xenophontos moved all in.

Livshitz called for his last 89,800 and showed {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for straight and flush draws. Xenophontos had {4-Hearts}{3-Clubs} for two pair.

The river came the {2-Diamonds} and Livshitz made the nut flush to double up. "Sorry guys," Livshitz said.

"No problem," Xenophontos replied, taking the bad beat in stride.

Margolin Calls Bluff on River

Level 1 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Timur Margolin

Action was picked up on the river with the board reading {3-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}. There was a hefty pot of about 66,000 in the middle. The cutoff moved all in after thinking for a while.

Timur Margolin was in the big blind and thought about it for a few moments before he called.

The cutoff tabled the {9-Spades}{2-Spades} for just a pair of deuces while Margolin had the {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for the winner as his opponent was left with just a few chips and Margolin gathered the big pot.

Fisch Snaps Off Ushakov

Level 1 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Evgenii Ushakov bet 4,000 from the small blind on a flop of {5-Spades}{8-Clubs}{10-Spades} before big blind Jordan Fisch made it 13,000. Ushakov called and they saw the {10-Diamonds} on the turn.

Ushakov checked to Fisch, who bet 12,000. Ushakov again called, then led out for 25,000 on the {5-Clubs} river.

Fisch quickly flicked in a chip to call and Ushakov was forced to show {k-Spades}{6-Spades} for a missed flush draw. Fisch turned over {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a full house, tens over fives, and dragged in the big pot.

"Good raise," a tablemate told Fisch after the hand.

"Great call on the river, huh," Fisch replied.

Alahwal Holds Up For Early Double

Level 1 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

In a blind versus blind confrontation, George Alahwal bet 8,000 on a flop of {7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{j-Spades} before Afshin Afsharorumieh raised to 22,000. Alahwal moved all in for 84,700 and Afsharorumieh called.

George Alahwal: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}
Afshin Afsharorumieh: {k-Spades}{9-Spades}

Alahwal needed to have his aces hold up against Afsharorumieh's flush draw to avoid elimination and improved to a set on the {a-Diamonds} turn. The {j-Diamonds} on the river was safe and Alahwal doubled up during the first level of the day.

"I had no choice. I didn't want to see a turn," Alahwal said following the hand.
