Raffoul Gets There on the River

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Action folded around to Evgeny Zakharov in the small blind who shoved all in for 70,000.

"Any ace you have to call. Any king. Any queen," he told big blind Edgard Raffoul. Raffoul eventually called with {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and Zakharov turned over {a-Spades}{3-Hearts}.

The {4-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} flop gave Raffoul a straight draw. He didn't connect with the {9-Clubs} turn, but he improved to two pair on the {7-Clubs} river and Zakharov was eliminated.

Guilbert Can't Connect Against Litvinov

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Johan Guilbert
Johan Guilbert

Andrey Litvinov bet 30,000 from the hijack on a flop of {7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and was called by Adi Aizin. Johan Guilbert then shoved all in for 171,000 and Litvinov called. Aizin gave it some thought before folding.

Johan Guilbert: {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Andrey Litvinov: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

Litvinov was ahead with his pair of jacks, while Guilbert was on a flush draw. The {8-Hearts} on the turn was no help to Guilbert, and he missed the {a-Diamonds} on the river to hit the rail as the Day 1c chip leader climbed to around 1,300,000.

Akgul Gets Kiriopoulos On the River

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Huseyin Akgul bet 40,000 on a flop of {7-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts} from early position and was called by Demosthenes Kiriopoulos in the big blind.

The turn came the {8-Spades} and Kiriopoulos checked to Akgul once again, and he fired out 60,000 this time. Kiriopoulos called once more to see the {j-Diamonds} on the river and checked.

Akgul also checked and Kiriopoulos showed {10-Spades}{7-Spades} for two pair, sevens and threes. Akgul, though, turned over {k-Spades}{j-Spades} for a better two pair on the river to take the pot.

Ilani Has Kirichenko Outkicked

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Aleksandr Kirichenko bet 20,000 from the hijack on a flop of {7-Clubs}{a-Spades}{3-Clubs} and was called by Ran Ilani in the cutoff and Faraz Jaka on the button.

The turn came the {10-Hearts} and action checked to Ilani, who bet 75,000. Jaka quickly folded, but Kirichenko called after a brief pause.

Kirichenko checked again on the {3-Diamonds} river and this time Ilani grabbed a chip from his stack and tapped it on the table. Kirichenko turned over {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, but Ilani had {a-Clubs}{j-Spades} for two pair, aces and threes with a jack kicker, to take the pot.

Yurasov Surges Back Up With Boat

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Dmitry Yurasov
Dmitry Yurasov

Action was on the river and the board read {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. There was a large pot of 320,000 in the middle.

From the small blind, Dmitry Yurasov waited for a while before announcing all in. Emmanuel Lopez Lausen asked for a count in the big blind which was counted out to be a shove of 214,000.

Lopez thought for about 30 seconds before calling. Yurasov showed the {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} for a full house which trounced the {a-Clubs}{5-Hearts} of Lopez and Yurasov gathered the big pot to move himself back up among the higher stacks.
