El-Siblani Gets a Surprising Double
Level 7
: Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Action was on the flop on a board of Q♦A♥J♦ with around 56,000 in the pot. Farzat Aram checked before Ali El-Siblani pushed all in for 64,000, a little over a pot sized bet. Aram made the call.
Ali El-Siblani: 7♠7♣
Farzat Aram: 10♣9♣
"Wow, no way!" said a neutral player, who was surprised to see both player's turn over less than desirable hands. El-Siblani had effectively turned his pocket sevens into a bluff, but was called by a worse hand in the form of Aram's straight draw.
The turn came the 4♥ and river the 6♦, so El-Siblani held and doubled up his stack.
