Nsir Steals the Pot from Jontulovic

Joris Ruijs made it 3,000 from the button before Bogdan Jontulovic three-bet out of the small blind to 15,500. Mokhles Nsir cold-called from the big blind and Ruijs also called.

Jontulovic placed a a continuation-bet out of 15,000 on the 9K7 flop. Nsir called, but Ruijs folded.

The 6 fell on the turn, and Jontulovic check-folded to Nsir's bet of 22,000.

The 3 turn checked through for the 9 to appear on the river. Panka checked, and Stoika tossed out a bet of 10,000. Panka pondered briefly before choosing to fold.

Andrey Pateychuk Among Day 2 Field as $5,300 High Roller Resumes at 6 p.m.

The 2025 Merit Poker Dolce Vita Series $5,300 High Roller returns for Day 2 at 6 p.m. local time inside the Crystal Cove Hotel and Casino, where the remaining players will continue their pursuit of a share of the $750,000 guaranteed prize pool.

From the 209 entries recorded so far, a total of 121 players made it through Day 1. With late registration still open until the end of Level 12, the field is expected to grow further before the prize pool is finalized.

Hassan Nashar leads the way with 680,000 chips, putting him at the top of the leaderboard heading into today’s session. He is followed by Ghassan Abou Khalil in second with a stack of 555,500 to work with, and Yusuf Tekin starts in third place with 540,000.

Starting the penultimate day with an above-average stack of 289,000 is Russia's Andrey Pateychuk. In 2011, Pateychuk took down a major European title for a career-best score of $937,530. He’s no stranger to success at Merit Poker either, having already claimed four trophies, including two Main Events and a High Roller title. With his experience, Pateychuk is not someone players will be eager to see at their table as Day 2 gets underway.

Day 2 resumes at Level 9 with blinds of 1,000/1,500 and a 1,500 big blind ante. Players who have not yet entered or those looking to reenter, may do so until the end of Level 12. Once registration closes, the prize pool and payouts will be confirmed and published. The full Day 2 schedule will be announced shortly after cards are in the air.
