With around 80,000 in the pot on a full board of 8984A, Erdal Gulseven shoved around 55,000 from under the gun, putting Fausto Tantillo in a difficult position on the button.

Tantillo isn't afraid to put the chips in if he thinks he is good, and after playing the hand back in his mind, he decided it was worth the risk.

Gulseven then sheepishly flipped Q5 for a busted flush draw, and Tantillo revealed 1010 for a pair of tens to scoop the pot.

Vladimir Lappo is fresh off of a victory in the €880 Merit Poker Cup, and he is once again proving why that was fully deserved.

With around 35,000 in the pot on a 93J89 board, Lappo bet 10,000 from the big blind and Nikolai Isaev made it 32,000 to go on the button. After thinking long and hard, Lappo carefully placed a chip in the pot to call.

At this point, Isaev should have revealed his cards, but instead he just mucked, which meant Lappo raked in the pot without needing to show his cards.

After thirteen days of poker under the Mediterranean sun, the 2025 Merit Poker Dolce Vita Series crowned its final champion. Nicolas Chouity conquered a record-setting 1,023-entry field in the $3,300 La Notte Degli Assi, claiming the title, the trophy, and a career-boosting $460,000 payday inside the luxurious Crystal Cove Hotel and Casino.

The event generated a massive $2,823,480 prize pool, making it the largest Merit Poker tournament of 2025 in terms of both field size and prize pool.

Chouity began the final table as chip leader and never looked back, navigating a stacked lineup with experience, composure, and a little bit of luck. In the end, he overcame Hungary’s Richard Broda in a tough and tactical heads-up battle, marking a powerful return to the spotlight for one of Lebanon’s most accomplished players.

Matija Perovic and Mikhail Ostapenko just clashed in a pot.

After squeezing preflop and betting the 93K flop, Perovic bet 19,000 on the Q turn from the big blind.

Ostapenko was on the button and after thinking it over, he shoved just over 100,000. Perovic looked a bit stunned but eventually decided to fold, leaving himself around 75,000.

One of Perovic's tablemates asked him if he had ace-king, to which Perovic replied with a simple nod.
