Wantman & England

Level 20 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Matthew Wantman opened to 22,000 from under the gun and Kyna England called on the button to get things heads-up.

Wantman continued for 22,000 on the flop of Q37 and England called. Wantman then checked on the 4 turn and England checked back.

Both players checked again on the 4 river and Wantman showed AK before England revealed the same hand with AK for the two to chop the pot.

Barrett Doubles Through Talbot

Level 20 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Action folded to Parker Talbot who raised to 20,000 from the hijack only to see Joseph Barrett jam for 130,000 total. The blinds folded and Talbot verified the count before checking the tournament clock and making the call to set up a runout with Barrett at risk.

Joseph Barrett: AQ
Parker Talbot: Q10

The flop came 469, keeping Barrett firmly in the lead for a double. The J turn gave Talbot open-ended straight and flush draws but after predicting that he'd brick the river, the 3 fell, proving Talbot's premonition true and locking up the double for Barrett.

Schulman Scores Double Elimination to Hit Seven-Figure Territory

Level 20 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

The 2004 WSOP Main Event runner-up David Williams moved all in for 75,000 under the gun and Nick Schulman called next to act. When action reached Anthony Marquez in the big blind, he moved all in for around 215,000 and Schulman thought for a few beats before calling.

Nick Schulman: AK
Anthony Marquez: QQ
David Williams: 33

Big Slick did the trick for Schulman as he took the lead on the 610K flop. Neither the 7 turn nor 10 river changed a thing and Schulman scored the double elimination.

Williams became the 76th-place finisher while Marquez, by virtue of starting the hand with more chips, finished in 75th place.

Tice Takes From Yu

Level 20 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Action folded to Ryan Yu in the small blind who limped. Landon Tice checked his option in the big blind and went to a flop of 683.

Yu took a short moment before reaching for chips and putting 10,000 into the middle. Tice called and watched the 7 hit the turn.

This time, Yu checked. Tice, after a brief pause, assembled chips and tossed out a bet worth 35,000. Yu quickly folded and Tice took down the pot without needing to see the river.

Baker Done Dirty on the River

Level 20 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
David "ODB" Baker
David "ODB" Baker

David Coleman opened for 20,000 from early position and action folded around to David "ODB" Baker, who three-bet jammed for 98,000 from the button. Both blinds folded and Coleman wasted little time in making the call.

David Coleman: A7
David "ODB" Baker: AQ

Baker was out in front with the superior ace but the 932 flop made things interesting as Coleman picked up a spade flush draw. The 5 turn put out some chop outs, but it was the 7 on the river that would pair Coleman and send Baker out the door in 80th place.

Ko KOs Kobayashi in Multi-Way Pot

Level 19 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
David Dongwoo Ko
David Dongwoo Ko

A player in middle position raised to 16,000 and got called by Hirokazu Kobayashi in late position, the button, David Dongwoo Ko in the small blind and the big blind leading to a five-way flop of K69.

Ko checked as did the big blind and the middle position player, but Kobayashi decided to toss out a bet of 22,000. The button called before Ko came in with a check-raise to 88,000.

Both the big blind and middle position player folded before Kobayashi made the call. The button checked his cards one last time and sent them to the muck to set up a heads-up turn card that came the 8.

Ko led with a bet large enough to put Kobayashi all in and when he called to put himself at risk, he and Ko were headed to a river card with Kobayashi at risk.

Hirokazu Kobayashi: KQ
David Dongwoo Ko: K9

The 7 river offered no spades or queens for Kobayashi and Ko began collecting the pot as Kobayashi stood to exit the tournament area.
