Askey Gets Value From the Big Blind Special

Brent Hart raised to 20,000 from the cutoff and got one caller from Anthony Askey in the big blind before seeing the flop come 2♣J♣3♦.

Askey checked over to Hart who continued with a bet of 25,000. Askey made the quick call to bring the 9♣ out on the turn.

Both players checked through to see the K♠ fall on the river.

Askey led out for the first time in the hand and did so with a bet of 95,000. Hart thought briefly before making the call only to see Askey turn over the 7♣4♣. Hart mucked and the dealer sent the pot to Askey.

On a completed board reading A♥J♦Q♦A♦5♥, Matthew Hunt bet out and faced a jam from Liu. Hunt eventually called it off only to see Liu turn over the A♠A♣.

Hunt turned over the 5♦3♦ and stood as the dealer counted down the stacks to send everything to Liu. As he exited the tournament area, Hunt said, "If I hadn't seen you bluff that hand earlier, I'd have never played this hand like that" while Liu worked on stacking his newly acquired chips.

Lorenz checked over to Oh who continued with a bet worth 12,000. Lorenz thought briefly before check-calling to watch as the A♦ hit the turn.

Lorenz checked again and again, Oh reached for chips and came out with a bet of 43,000. Lorenz, not yet done with the hand, opted to make the call and see the river bring the 9♣.

Lorenz checked a third time and after a moment of thought, Oh checked back. Lorenz said, "Good check" as he turned over the A♠Q♦, prompting a muck from Oh as the dealer collected the pot to send in Lorenz's direction.
