Richard Bai Claims NAPT RunGood Open Title for $68,530

On Tuesday night, Event #3: $1,100 RunGood Open reached its conclusion. The tournament attracted 480 runners and surpassed the $400K guarantee by offering up a $460,800 prize pool to the top 72 finishers.

Among those to cash the tournament were Chad Hicks (9th - $8,520), Andrew Rodgers (14th - $5,140), Joe Serock (15th - $5,140), Parker “Tonkaaaa” Talbot (22nd - $3,380), Mark Seif (28th - $2,560), and Bob Mather (48th - $1,940).

The tournament ended with a heads-up deal that saw Illinois poker pro Richard Bai win the title and $68,530 in prize money, which brought his lifetime tournament earnings up to $1,711,546 according to the Hendon Mob.

The NAPT RunGood Open title was the latest on an impressive poker resumé for Bai, who won the 2017 MSPT Potawatomi for a career-high $139,086. Two years later, he won the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit $1,700 Main Event at the same stop for $138,317 and a gold ring (he has two career WSOPC gold rings), and in 2021 he took down the Wynn Fall Classic $1,100 NLH event for $97,842.

Defending Champ Spikes the River For a Double Knockout

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Sami Bechahed raised to 3,000 in the hijack before Diego Sanchez moved all in for 22,500 on the button. Maxx Coleman reshoved for 28,000 in the big blind and Bechahed called to put both players at risk.

Sanchez had Coleman and Bechahed dominated as he was poised for a triple up on the 6410J board. The river, though, was the 7 as Bechahed hit a flush to win the pot and send Sanchez and Coleman to the rail.

Macdonald Gets Paid by Williams

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

In a blind on blind confrontation, Jeremiah Williams checked on the turn to John Macdonald with the board reading J96A. Macdonald fired for 9,000 and Williams weighed his options before he elected to call.

Williams checked once again on the Q river. Macdonald cut out a bet of 18,000 and Williams took around 30 seconds before he flicked in the call. Macdonald tabled 108 for the second nut flush as he dragged an early pot.

Saliba Leaves Massey on Fumes

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Aaron Massey raised to 3,000 in the cutoff and Yang Lu called in the small blind. Justin Saliba then three-bet to 16,000 in the big blind and Massey moved all in. Lu got out of the way, but Saliba called for 63,000.

Saliba was far ahead with his aces as the K53 flop gave Massey some hope with a pair. The 2 turn was safe for Saliba, while the 5 river secured his double up and left Massey nursing an extreme short stack.

Saliba Doubles Through Einiger

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Yang Lu opened to 3,000 from the button and Justin Saliba three-bet shoved for 30,000 from the small blind. Kenneth Einiger called from the big blind with a covering stack to put Saliba at risk and Lu got out of the way.

Yifrach Has a Short Day

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Colton Blomberg three-bet to 8,500 in the small blind and Gal Yifrach, who entered at the start of the day, called in the cutoff.

The flop came Q6J and Blomberg bet 5,500. Yifrach then raised to 15,000, Blomberg moved all in, and Yifrach called for 20,000.
