It was a long day at the felt but it was all worth it for Nikolai Mamut who captured his first PokerStars title in Event #1: $1,100 PS Open Main Event. Mamut outlasted a field of 947 entries over the course of three days to take home the first-place prize of $158,700 along with the prestigious PokerStars Spadie trophy.
Mamut went up against some of the best in the business on this final day and overcame a chip deficit to defeat poker media member Terrance Reid in an epic heads-up match. This marks the biggest win of his career for the Russian poker pro who now makes his home in London, England. With over seven figures in live poker earnings, Mamut has now recorded the second-largest cash of his young career.
