"The Mayor of Valuetown" Gets Paid by Mugar

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Katherine Porrello and Peter Mugar went to the turn on a board of J284 when Mugar bet 75,000 from early position. Porrello then raised to 175,000 under the gun, and Mugar called.

The river was the A and Porrello bet 150,000. Mugar again called, and Porrello showed KK to win the pot.

"She's the mayor of Valuetown," tablemate Matthew Salsberg said.

Lipton Gets a Donation From Mammen

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

"We have to finish today. He has a plane to catch," Thomas Boivin said about Joshua Mammen at the start of the day.

"Actually, I do," Mammen replied.

Mammen then opened to 20,000 on the button and Chad Lipton moved all in for 68,000 in the big blind. "Donation," Mammen said as he called.

The 533 flop gave Mammen outs to a straight, but Lipton held on through the 9 turn and 2 river to earn the double up.

Classic Ausmus Double

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Brett Bassock opened to 22,000 in middle position and Jeremy Ausmus slid out a three-bet to 95,000 from the big blind. Bassock quickly announced all in and Ausmus was given five seconds to act before throwing his last 2,000 chips into the middle.

The flop fell AKQ and Ausmus picked up a pair of aces to take a huge lead. The 8 and 10 runout changed nothing and Ausmus scored himself an early double up.

"That wasn't a classic flip but it was a Jeremy Ausmus one," Matthew Salsberg chimed in.
