Jeremy Ausmus Eliminated in 3rd Place ($190,000)

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Jeremy Ausmus - 3rd place
Jeremy Ausmus - 3rd place

Victor Ramdin folded his button, perhaps sensing the big pot that was about to unfold. From the small blind, Jeremy Ausmus opened to 225,000, and Joe Hachem defended his big to see a flop.

It came out {J-Spades} {6-Hearts} {K-Spades}, and Ausmus continued out with 280,000 more chips. It didn't work. Hachem shoved all in, and Ausmus made the call for his tournament life, committing his final ~1.9 million to the pot.

Showdown
Ausmus: {J-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds}
Hachem: {K-Hearts} {7-Diamonds}

Hachem's top pair was in the front, and he was two cards away from sending this match into heads-up play.

The turn was another blank, and the {8-Hearts} left Ausmus dead to six outs.

River: {4-Diamonds}

That's not going to change anything, and it's not going to save Ausmus from taking the walk to the payout desk. He'll collect $190,000 for his efforts here this week, and that's not too shabby for five days' work.

Ausmus Sets the Trap

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

With 845,000 in the pot and a board reading {J-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{5-Spades}{A-Spades}, Jeremy Ausmus coyly checked his {A-Clubs}{8-Spades} and induced Joe Hachem to bet 485,000. Ausmus was patient and deliberate as he contemplated a raise, which he made to 1.4 million. Hachem, who didn't have much, quietly folded his {Q-Hearts}{3-Hearts} as he dropped to just below 6 million.

Hachem Doubles to the Lead!

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

On the button, Joe Hachem looked down at {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} and opened to 180,000, and Victor Ramdin folded his small blind. In the big, though, Jeremy Ausmus squeezed {8-Diamonds} {8-Spades}, and he stuck in a three-bet to 605,000 total. After a moment to consider, Hachem moved in on a four-bet, and Ausmus was getting the right price to call with a chance at the knockout.

The {5-Spades} {J-Clubs} {K-Clubs} flop was a good one for Hachem as it gave him top pair and a commanding lead with two to come. The turn {7-Hearts} was scary but safe, and the river {Q-Clubs} secured Hachem's double up. He's now has a big chip lead with close to 6.3 million, while Ausmus has fallen back to about 4 million.

Hachem Starting to Gain

Jeremy Ausmus opened with a raise on the button holding {K-Spades} {J-Diamonds}. In the small blind, Joe Hachem stuck in a three-bet with two mystery cards, and Ausmus tanked and called to see a flop with more than 800,000 chips in the pot.

It came {10-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} {7-Clubs}, and Hachem announced an all in. King-high and a gutterball isn't enough for Ausmus to call with, and Hachem takes it down to move himself up over 3 million.
