Anderson Takes a Small One Off Dowdy

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

Action folded to Calvin Anderson on the button and he threw in a raise to 8,800. David "ODB" Baker considered it in the small blind, but ultimately decided to muck. James Dowdy, on the other hand, made the call from the big blind and it was heads-up to the {9-Spades}{K-Hearts}{K-Clubs} flop, which both players checked.

When the {6-Hearts} hit the turn, Dowdy check-called a bet of 4,800 from Anderson, leading to the {K-Diamonds} river. Once again Dowdy checked and Anderson bet, this time firing out 20,300. Dowdy thought better of it and quickly folded. Anderson is up to 155,000.

Six-High Good Enough For Ramdin

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante
Victor Ramdin and his technicolor stack
Victor Ramdin and his technicolor stack

When we walked up to the table, Victor Ramdin and Ryan Hughes were tangled up in a big pot. There was at least 180,000 piled in the middle as the dealer put fourth street down on the {A-Clubs} {8-Spades} {A-Spades} {3-Spades} board. Ramdin was first from the hijack seat, and he spent some time stacking out a potential bet before announcing a check instead. Hughes considered for a few moments too, and he eventually checked it back.

That brought the {4-Hearts} on the river, and Ramdin immediately slid out a bet -- it looked like 116,000 to our eyes. Hughes would take some time mulling over the big decision before reluctantly releasing his cards.

Ever the advertiser, Ramdin couldn't resist flipping up his {2-Hearts} {6-Hearts} as he raked in the pot.

If you can count Ramdin's chips, you're hired; to our eyes, it looks like he's just crept up over 1.1 million with that win.

Von Kriegenbergh Confused by Segal

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

This hand just went down and Daniel Negreanu was kind enough to fill us in on the preflop, flop and turn action as we walked up late to the table. Action folded to Rom Segal in cutoff seat and he limped in. Taylor von Kriegenbergh raised on the button and Negreanu called from the big blind. Segal also called.

The flop came down {K-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Negreanu led out. Both his opponents called to see the {3-Diamonds} pair the board on the turn. Action checked to von Kriegenbergh and he bet 36,000. Negreanu folded and Segal min-raised to 72,000. Von Kriegenbergh called.

The river completed the board with the {9-Diamonds} and after some chatter back and forth with von Kriegenbergh, Segal moved all in for around 275,000. Von Kriegenbergh tanked and tanked, while talking about how confused he was. Eventually he folded his hand and was left with 475,000 in chips. The table begged Segal to show, but he didn't show anything and simply scooped the pot.

Five Away

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

The board says 61 players are left, meaning the field is just five players away from the money. We'll see if things tighten up or not, but so far they've been dropping at a nice, steady rate.

Just Messin' Around with Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu had raised before Govert Metaal three-bet from the next seat, the hijack seat, to 29,000. Action folded back over to Negreanu and he four-bet to 62,000. Metaal folded after a minutes and Negreanu showed the {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}.

"I like it!" said Craig Bergeron.

"I'm just messin' around!" laughed Negreanu.

Shchemelev Bests Lind

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

On the flop of {8-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, Vladimir Shchemelev bet 7,000 and George Lind made the call. The turn brought the {6-Spades} and both players checked. The river was the {J-Clubs} and Shchemelev bet 12,000. Lind quickly made the call, but mucked after seeing the {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs} from Shchemelev.

Shchemelev moved to 140,000 while Lind dropped to 118,000.

Check-Shove for Kaplan

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante

With the flop laid out {10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}, Jaime Kaplan checked to his opponent. The player bet 11,200. Kaplan came back with an all-in shove to put the player to the test for his last 100,000 or so. The player tank-folded and Kaplan won the pot to move to 370,000 in chips.
