"The Nits Always Get Rewarded"

Level 20 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Matthias Eibinger
Matthias Eibinger

Joseph Oren raised to 240,000 in middle position before Matthias Eibinger, who had yet to play a hand at the final table, finally got involved and three-bet to 580,000 in the hijack. Oren called.

The flop came 986 and Eibinger bet 450,000. Oren then moved all in. "Waited six orbits for my first hand," Eibinger said as he called for his last 1,670,000.

Joseph Oren: 66

Eibinger's first hand threatened to be his last, as his aces had been outflopped by Oren's set. "That's funny," Eibinger said, laughing off the predicament he found himself in.

The turn, though, brought the A to give Eibinger a set of aces. The river was the 5 and he earned a fortunate double up. "The nits always get rewarded," he added after the hand.

Igor Yaroshevskyy opened to 200,000 in middle position and Tom Vogelsang called on the button with J9. Johan Guilbert also called in the small blind with 65.

The 874 flop gave Guilbert the nut straight as action checked to Vogelsang, who bet 200,000 with a flush draw. Guilbert then raised to 950,000, Yaroshevskyy folded, and Vogelsang called.

Vogelsang made his flush on the 2 turn and Guilbert checked to him. Vogelsang then bet 1,700,000, and Guilbert burned through a few time banks before folding his straight.

"I think you have a flush, but I can't be sure," Guilbert said.
