Vanchiro Doubles

Action was opened with a raise to 1,500 from a player in middle position and the hijack seat called. Jeffrey Vanchiro was in the small blind and moved all in for 9,150 total. The original raiser folded and then the hijack seat called. Vanchiro showed {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades} and his opponent showed {K-Spades} {Q-Clubs}.

"Good game, guys." joked Vanchiro, mimicking the player from the hand before.

The board ran out {8-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} to give Vanchiro the double up.

Queens Not Working for Pahuja

Vinny Pahuja raised from under the gun to 1,400. The next player to act moved all in for 8,775 total. The next player to act after that made the call of the all-in bet before action folded all the way back over to Pahuja. Pahuja announced that he was all in, having the player that flat-called covered. It dind't take long for that player to get out of the way.

Pahuja revealed {Q-Spades} {Q-Clubs} to which the all-in player said, "Good game, guys." and tabled {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}.

The flop was big for the at-risk player when it came {J-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {3-Spades}. Immediately after seeing the jack, Pahuja smacked his hand on his forehead in disgust. The turn was the {8-Diamonds} and the river the {5-Diamonds}.

"Unlucky." said the player to Pahuja as the chips were shipped over. This is the second big pot worth over 25,000 that Pahuja has lost with two queens. He's dropped down to 56,000.

Brady Busts Cammarota

We caught up to the action with the board showing {Q-Spades} {7-Spades} {5-Spades} and reigning Aruba Poker Classic champion Matt Brady had just checked over to Alfonso Cammarota. Cammarota fired a bet of 2,100 before Brady stuck a big stack of chips out in the middle to put Cammarota all in. A call was made.
"I have a queen," said Brady, revealing the {Q-Hearts} {J-Hearts}.

"I need a spade then," responded Cammarota, tabling {9-Spades} {9-Diamonds}.

The turn brought the {4-Clubs} and the river the {A-Clubs}. Cammarota was unable to find a spade or a nine and thus was eliminated from the tournament.

Jason Gray Eliminated

An under-the-gun player raised to 1,800 before the next two seats folded to set the action on Jason Gray. Gray moved all of his chips into the middle, totaling approximately 11,000. One by one, each player folded back over to the under-the-gun player and he made the call quickly, tabling {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds}. Gray had the next best hand in {K-Diamonds} {K-Spades}.

The board ran out {8-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {2-Spades} {7-Clubs} {9-Spades}. Failing to improve, Gray quickly departed the tournament area.

As Sweet As Honeybone

James Honeybone on Day 1
James Honeybone on Day 1
We picked up a pot in progress as the dealer put fourth street on a board reading {4-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {3-Hearts}. After a check from James Honeybone, his opponent made a bet to put about 25,000 chips in the pot. Honeybone elected to check-raise all in for about 15,000 total, causing his opponent to mumble to himself for several minutes. "You got two kings again?" he asked. Finally, he made the call with a similar-sized stack.

"Your read was right on, two black kings," said Honeybone, tabling {K-Spades} {K-Clubs} to prove it. His disgusted opponent turned over {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}, in bad shape to stay alive. The river paired the board with the {4-Diamonds}, holding Honeybone's overpair and earning him a double up close to 50,000.

Nick Binger Busts on a Semi-Bluff

Adam "Roothlus" Levy, Nick Binger and one other player all took a flop of {9-Spades} {6-Hearts} {3-Spades} after Binger raised preflop. The first three cards on the board fell {9-Spades} {6-Hearts} {3-Spades}. Levy checked and Binger fired 2,600. The unknown player raised to 6,000 and Levy quickly ducked out of the way. Action went back over to Binger and he announced, "All in." After some confusion about how much the all-in bet was for, the dealer determined it would be another 11,125 for Binger's opponent to call, and that he did.

Binger stood from his chair as his brother, Michael, came rushing over to the table to see what was going on. The hands were revealed and Binger held an open-ended straight draw with {5-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds}. His opponent made the call holding just {5-Hearts} {5-Spades}.

The turn came the {3-Clubs} and the river the {4-Spades}, both blanks for Binger, who as a result was left to join the rail. Though admittedly, that's not such a bad place to be when you're in Aruba.

Young Can't Bluff Sharp

Justin Young raised to 1,050 preflop from early position and was called by Larry Sharp in middle. The two saw the flop come down {J-Spades} {9-Spades} {9-Clubs} and Young fired a continuation bet of 1,400; Sharp called.

The dealer put the {7-Hearts} on the felt for the turn and Young checked. Sharp hesitated and then checked behind.

The river brought the {K-Spades}. Young then led out with a bet of 2,900. Sharp tanked for some time before eventually opting to make the call, and it proved to be the right one as Young tabled {5-Hearts} {2-Spades} for complete air. Sharp revealed {K-Hearts} {J-Hearts} for the win.
