Schoultz KOs Kos

Artur Kos was just all in with {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades} versus the {6-Spades}{6-Clubs} of Michael Schoultz, and when the board came {K-Spades}{7-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{A-Spades}, Kos was eliminated.

Raskin Rollin'

Micah Raskin
Micah Raskin

Micah Raskin is up to about 430,000 after eliminating Michael Franceschetti.

Franceschetti got his chips into the middle, about 40,000-ish, with {A-}{Q-} against Raskin's {K-}{J-}. Things were looking bleak for Raskin after the {9-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop and {Q-Diamonds} turn, but the {10-Spades} hit the river to give Raskin the nut straight.

Messina Takes Chen's Chips

50 players remain
50 players remain

Dean Chen is out, his elimination coming at the hands of Anthony Messina.

All in with his short stack with {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} versus Messina's {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, the flop came {A-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{Q-Spades} to give Messina two pair, and after the {4-Spades} turn and {8-Spades} river, Chen is out.

Messina shook Chen's hand as he left, saying "you're a better player than I am" as he did. Chen said thanks and departed as Messina stacked the chips.

Right now 50 players remain.

Argaros Out

Dmitri Argaros has joined the parade of players hitting the rail early this afternoon. His end just came in a hand that saw Brian Shaw open from under the gun, John Chapman call from a seat over, then Argaros shove all in from the button for about 29,000. The blinds folded and Shaw called, and after some thought Chapman stepped aside.

Shaw: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Argaros: {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

A tough spot for Argaros, although after the {2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop and {A-Diamonds} turn he had extra outs to chop. But the river was the {6-Diamonds}, and Argaros is out.

Klodnicki Felts Gvansan

Neal Gvansan
Neal Gvansan

All in for about 35,000 with {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}, Neal Gvansan looked to survive against Chris Klodnicki's {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}. However, the board ran out {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{2-Spades}{6-Hearts} as Klodnicki paired his king to claim another elimination.

Split Pot Means Survival for Jouaneh

Michael Jouaneh
Michael Jouaneh

Following a {5-Spades}{A-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop, Ketan Pandya bet 3,700 (about two-thirds pot), Michael Jouaneh raised to 10,700, and after a bit of thought Pandya called. The turn then brought the {10-Clubs} and a big bet of 65,000 by Pandya, well over the 35,000 or so Jouaneh had left behind.

It was Jouaneh's turn to think. He sat quietly for a moment, tapping the half-golf ball he uses as a card protector as he thought. Finally after about a half-minute he shrugged and called all in, turning over {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. Pandya then tabled his {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}, and after the {9-Spades} river they split the chips.

"You're supposed to fold there," joked Pandya. Jouaneh shrugged some more in response, an expression of relief showing he was glad to have survived the hand.

Klodnicki Punts McColgan

Chris Klodnicki tweeted earlier today "I plan on doing some serious punting this Sunday." And he's certainly been active throughout Level 11, perhaps punting some chips, but punting players from the tournament, too.

Immediately following that big hand versus Richard Allen, Chris Klodnicki was getting himself involved in another big one again, this time versus Kevin McColgan.

This hand saw the pair battle to the river, building a modest-sized pot as the board came {5-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, then {J-Clubs}, then {5-Diamonds}. On the river McColgan checked, and Klodnicki took his time before declaring he was all in.

McColgan tanked for a couple of minutes as he eyed his stack of approximately 120,000, a little less then what Klodnicki had bet. Finally McColgan called, and when Klodnicki tabled {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} for the flush, McColgan mucked, having been eliminated.

"Can you start getting involved in some hands, sir?" asked William Tonking with a wry grin afterwards from across the table. Klodnicki just smiled and stacked his chips.

Messina Doubles Through Riess

With the board reading {K-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, Ryan Riess and Anthony Messina went back and forth before Messina was all in for 42,500 with {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}. Riess was ahead with {9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}, but the {A-Clubs} hit the turn to give Messina the lead. The {Q-Hearts} river locked up the pot for Messina, leaving Riess with about 14 big blinds.
