Morrill Doubles Through Schubbe, Leaves Him With Crumbs

Level 13 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Shelly Morrill was all in preflop out of the big blind with action from Marc Shubbe, who was in the hijack.

Shelly Morrill: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Marc Schubbe: {q-Diamonds}{a-Spades}

The two were in a coin flip situation prior to the flop comming {7-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. Morrill leaned forward from the two-seat to see the flop before comfortably sitting back to watch the turn fall {5-Clubs}. The river came {k-Diamonds} and she seemed to freeze for a split second, letting out a small gasp as if she were almost certain she had seen a queen fall before realizing that a king came instead, meaning she was safe and had earned the double. Her stack was counted to be 40,000 exactly and Schubbe paid her off, leaving himself with just over 10,000 at around the midway point in the level.

Kolness Gets Value from Le

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

There was 18,000 in the pot from preflop action in a heads-up pot between Tam Le, who was under the gun and Tyler Kolness, who was on the button. The flop came {9-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and both players checked.

The turn was {8-Hearts} and Le checked again. Kolness bet 8,500 and Le made the call. The river fell {q-Clubs} and Le checked again. Kolness bet 26,000 and Le thought for a few moments and then dropped in a chip, prompting an announcement from the dealer to confirm the call.

Kolness tabled {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for three queens with a king kicker. Le responded by showing a second-best hand of {a-Spades}{9-Hearts} and paid off the bet, sending Kolness north of 150,000 in chips.

Hickerson has the largest stack of the three and made sure to mention that he was visiting from Kotzebue, Alaska. He has made no waste of his time in The North Star State thus far, currently boasting a stack just shy of 200,000 with less than 90 minutes of play left in the day.

Vang Chipping Up

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

There was a heads up pot between Roger Johnson in the small blind and Kou Vang, who was on the button, with a little over 30,000 in the middle after flop action to bring the turn on a board that read {8-Spades}{j-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. Both players checked. The river dropped {8-Clubs} and Johnson checked again.

"Sixteen thousand," said Vang, sliding forward the equivalent bet. Johnson thought for about 15 seconds and then sent his cards to the muck. Vang asked him after the hand if he had a spade and he shook his head no. He then continued stacking his newly-earned chips to bring his total to around the 150,000-mark.

"What is it to me?" said Le. The dealer cut out the raise and told him it was 21,500 more.

"All in," responded Le. Kolness' act was up and he knew it. He sent his cards to the muck with no hesitation and Le took down the pot.
